Who is the weakest nemesis?

I already asked the subreddit for their opinions, but what do you think? Who is the weakest nemesis?

I’ve only fought the original four, and of those, I could only beat the Chthonic one.

Fabius vs. my Battlemage was tank vs. tank, so neither of us posed any danger to one another. It was just 20 straight minutes of our health inching down and back up again as we healed. I finally just gave up.

Fighting the Undead nemesis was a hard, bloody fight, but I finally managed to scrape by the skin of my teeth. And then he resurrected and filled the screen with freezing sky shards.

Benn’Jahr on the other hand just felt like a slightly more scary boss. I felt much closer to death fighting Shar’Zul.

I predict that Benn’Jhar will get most votes, if not all.

The aetheral nemesis is without a doubt the weakest. all it can do is teleport you lol.

I take it Vald has never ‘just’ wombo-comboed you straight into Aleksander’s meteor. He’s not dangerous on his own, but he can pull you back into some nasty enemies when he feels like it.

I’d say it’s a tossup between Zantarin and Benny. Outside of the rare lucky shotgun, I’ve never died to Zant in a regular fight, not even with his 50% resist shred. Benny is also slow and weak, but he does do a big dose of physical damage when under 50 and his crystals can block off esape routes in Crucible. He’s a weaker Moose, who’s already firmly mediocre.

OP also forgot nemesis Anasteria and Zantarin in the poll.

Yeah, I took the nemesis list from Grim tools. Don’t know why they weren’t on the nemesis list.

Edit: It DID show up, but my taskbar was blocking it. Hilarious.

Vald is the easiest imo - if talking one v one. Lightning res is easy to overcap and once his rr debuff isn’t working all he’s got is a lightly annoying teleport - no real threat.

Zantrain for 2nd easiest - once you’ve dodged his big shotgun and get in close he’s basically done for too.

One on one in Campaign all Nemeses are easy with end-game builds except Grava’Thul.

In Crucible it’s a different story though. I find that Fabius is actually the easiest one. After power creep of AoM he stopped doing as much damage and even casters can facetank him without buffs. He is a bit annoying, but that’s all, he is never a threat, and he doesn’t get any synergy from other Nemeses.
Valdaran can ruin your day if you grind for coins without buffs and your lightning resist is not overcapped. He can also ruin your day by teleporting your glassy caster into really deep shit while your heals/circuit breakers are no cooldown.
Even good old Ben can give some builds trouble with his traps and his DA debuffs when coupled with with Reaper for example.

in campaign valdaran needs some serious buff on ultimate. Once you get that lightning resistance up and running he turns like a normal hero boss :frowning:

in general the base game nemesises derserves testing checkup and tuning and make sure their power levels are increased if not at least slightly increased to lower the gap between the other power houses.’

I voted fabius because i want his power level increased badly on ultimate. he is an assassin so give him more chance of wielding powerful weapons and boost his attack speed, cause he is too slow for a top tier assassin!

All Benn’Jahr can do is putting his shards, and he’s slow, misses 90% of his attacks. Valdaran can deal some damage to you, even if you’re ranged, while Benn can’t. :stuck_out_tongue:

Considering the added value of the stats and the danger posed by the skills in different situations, I kinda disagree that Valdaran or Zantarin or even Benn’Jarr are the weakest nems. Both Valdie and Benn are pretty dangerous as support and Zant can one-shot anyone and therefore, for pure melee, can be seen as potentially the second MOST dangerous nemesis after Grava’Thul.

For one-on-one in main campaign without an endgame build I guess Valdaran is the easiest as long as you keep your resistances tidy. Or Benn’Jarr with enough armor and phys res.

I think op is just ranking them on their own in campaign, excluding crucible.

I’ve always found it a questionable decision that the very first nemesis you’re likely to get playing normally is the one that an undergeared character has no chance against. Valdaran’s unkitable, has a shotgun and lightning bolt, and pops up on a few required routes.

By the time Zant gets close enough to start casting, you’ve probably already dealt with the fast heavy hitters like Reaper, Kuba, and IM. He also jumps the gun on his shotgun instead of waddling into point blank range, so unless he somehow chains it with a meteor, you’re fine. Getting him in 170 is like having only 3 nemeses to deal with.

Moose’s freeze is also worse than Benny’s trap, since you can’t use skills while it’s up. Better hope your health pot isn’t on CD if he clocks you while Aleks and Reaper are on your tail.

Campaign/Hardcore point of view.

Definitely not any of AoM nemesises. Not sure why they are even on the list. They are some of the most dangerous enemies in the game, celestials aside. Among them I find Kuba least risky to fight.

Then goes Gargabol, Aldrich, Sharzul and Alkamos. They are not nemesises but can easily be considered as nemesis-tier bosses, both in stats and actual difficulty.

Gargabol is easy fit among AoM nemesises.
Aldrich and Sharzul are somewhat in-between vanilla and AoM nemesises. Definitely stronger than their faction’s respective vanilla nemesises.

Alkamos is pretty close to Fabius imo, but since the weapon they carry is kinda random their power level could jump quite a bit. Sometimes their weapons make me think I’d rather fight Kuba, but only sometimes.

Now, vanilla nemesises. Definitely not Zantarin. Zantarin for melee is a 100% awareness fight. If you do everything perfectly he’s easy but if you screw up you’re done for. It’s an easier and safer fight for ranged though.

IM is complete opposite - there aren’t much tactics involved so she’s just a stat check to me.

Moosilauke is hands down the easiest nemesis for ranged builds. Even easier than Bennjarr, because Bennjarr is actually pretty fast. For melee it is largely trivialized by hoarfrost potion and adequate armor/phys resistance. Still possible to kill him with kinda lackluster freeze resist and armor/phys res, but requires quite a bit of tactical kiting. Mostly annoying rather than hard.

Bennjarr’s strategy is to apply rr to you and force you into kiting through his crystal field, but it’s pretty easy to have stats to manfight him with adequate melee builds, therefore he’s considered to be pretty easy. It’s harder to find him that to fight him.

Valdaran is hands down the easiest nemesis for melee builds since he only casts his RR lightning when enemy is away. Just blitz his ass and manfight him. He’s equally easy to ranged since ranged can easily be reduced to melee. Valdaran even helps you with his teleport, lol. Just need to be wary of his RR lightning. Giving my vote to him.

There’s also Kravall, Madqueen and probably Sentinel as nemesis tier candidates. Kravall for a time was kind of like Valdaran in terms of tactics but since then he received a buff. Idk where to put him now, but not weaker than Valdaran for sure. Sentinel I don’t fight often, but IIRC he’s about kiting him away from healing crystals and that’s pretty much it. Madqueen I haven’t fought in AoM in campaign - only in the Crucible, but she’s easily one of the most dangerous nemesis-tier bosses.

Chthon aka the dead god lurker forumer would like to have a word with you!

I want to have a word with him as well :furious:
