Anyone else running a DW WH also post patch? I am curious to compare numbers/setups/strategies. I am currently using 1 Mad Queens Claw, and a nice Rift Scourge slicer I picked up on the way to the Sentinel. I was using 2 Queen’s claws, but it is hard to pass up 22% attack speed and 5% lifesteal. I am also curious about Dreeg vs Deathmarked gear. I am currently using 3 pieces of the Dreeg set, and the standard Viperfangs, Nidalla’s Legwraps, etc. A few friends hinted that the DM set might also be good, although being poison/acid based, not sure if the boost to shadowstrike will outweigh the advantages I have now.
Also, I am looking for another XXX Rift Scourge Slicer of Voracity for the Witch Hunter. Paying extra if the prefix is Acid/Poison based. Also would accept an XXXX Slithtongue of Voracity.
Afaik Slithtongue can only spawn with a suffix so there is no chance to get a prefix here.
My standard SS spammer WH got heavily nerfed after the patch, but in fact he is doing pretty well without any change whatsoever, so I don’t have any motivations to bother with min/max anymore
I was trying to farm a good one yesterday, and one of them was a “Resolute Slithtongue”, which made me think that you might be able to get a prefix/affix one. Then I realized that the Slithtongue is not far off from an easily obtainable Basilisk Claw, so I stopped farming.
This morning while farming the Sentinel, I got a Rift Scourge slicer of Voracity, which had 5% life steal, 22% attack speed, and +3 to Nidalla’s Hidden Hand, plus the standard poison/acid percentages, and figured two of these might be damn nice.
Yeah back then in 1.0.03 once I have a session of looting that damn dead body for over 500 Slithtongue (tried to get “of the Wastes” here) but with no luck getting any prefixes. I may be off the mark but maybe they changed something with the rare drops affixes this time, just a wild guess…Anyway “of the Wastes” was nerfed to the ground so…:furious::furious:
I agree some greens in this patch can be pretty sweet, consider that this time it gets a lot easier to actually obtain them.
I did nothing except shuffling my weapon augments around since Essence of Chthon is now worthless (i use the Signets set). It still face rolls trough the content and I’m using it exclusively for Sentinel farming (got one of the helms already, yay!).

I have been farming the first part of the Hidden Path quest in Lower Crossing, there are a lot of Rift Scourges there, and you usually get 3-4 rift scourge heroes as well.

It’s really quite easy. Just max out a specific damage oriented skill. Use a build like this one.
