soo generic looking, otherwise a great game.
i find it mindblowing they chose to be that lazy on character design when they put great effort creating the world out there, i’d say its the best world ARPG game. so this is making it SO MUCH MORE disappointing.
PLEASE PLEASE RELEASE A PATCH WHERE U GIVE A REAL CHARACTER DESIGN.
also like to add, for a type of ARPG. I think DOTA 2 current engine would be perfect for this.

To clarify, when you hit level 2 and choose a mastery, you want the game to change your appearance? What about when you pick second mastery? You are awar e of the number or combos, right? That sounds like a ton of work, for something covered head to toe in gear.
As each char can wear all gear, they need a generic model (or at the very least there cannot be much variance), ie unlike D3
Maybe the Dota engine would be nice, but they have no access to it…
steam company can work some tweaks, its the source 2 engine. im sure it can be used because it was used for other steam games.
no at the beginning you can create your own character. im not sure which like tho. i guess it wouldnt work for distinct class differences due to the combination of classes.
try to make it like dark souls or something better.
So just stop working on the expansion / XBox release and simply rebuild the entire game in a totally different game engine :rolleyes:
I think you are very mistaken here. Grim Dawn isn’t made by Steam or using the Source engine.
Grim Dawn is made by a VERY small indie team called Crate and it’s using the Titan Quest engine.
I hope this helps you understand what is / isn’t possible 
I’d like it if they gave us at least 3 male faces and 3 female faces to choose from, at least that way there would be some variation in how the characters look.
You are absolutely right (except for dota2). It was the same on titan quest and it would bring soul to the game .
3 looks would be enough :
The soldier one type
The range one type
The wizard one type
But obviously nothing won’t happen because "blablaba you know how it’s tough blablalabla "

Character customization is pretty pointless when 90% of the time you are wearing an helmet and completely covering your character in armor. That and most play with the camera as far as away as possible from the character to be able see what enemies lie ahead.
This is something that Crate, ages ago, mentioned about possibly having different heads, but as nothing has happened I’m guessing it’s either too much work or maybe on a to-do-if-time list, who knows
Unless Crate themselves say blablabla then all replies are just guesswork. Crate do read all the posts, they simply don’t have a large enough team to have someone replying all the time.
Eh. I say jus wait til around expansion time. If they are going to add the lil “niceties” and odds and ends that people clamor and cry for that’ll be the time frame it’s going to happen. If it passes by with your desires getting a no-show, you can kiss the possibility goodbye for a while.
I should tell to blizzard why in diablo 2 they have paladin , assassin , barbarian etc … I would have told them " don’t bother we don’t see them with helmet and camera angles"…
On “sacred” the unik characters look was very, very cool.
All things are not based of efficiency , you talk like an accountant.
Maybe less “whining” and more explanation of what you want and why. Providing courteous and thoughtful feedback is more likely to get the devs attention.
You’ve played the game long enough to know the differences between GD and any Diablo game and the reasons why they differ in this aspect. The answer literally stares one in the face and all it takes is some reasonable knowledge of both games to see it.

People can always use the No-Reply sub-forum if they don’t want to be open to debate and differing views. That’s why that section exists and it basically IS your “tip box”. Most everything else on the forum is fair game.
It is a public “tips box”, so not only can you provide your tips, but the rest of us can see and participate on the topic.
