It’s still almost impossible to hit single, stationary targets, especially if they are smaller.
The initial mine bounces off of them if you target them, and instead of going where the skill is targeted, it flies off in a somewhat random direction, usually perpendicular to the normal spread, so you just end up with a triangle shape around the target that doesn’t damage them.
Awesome, so you can play around it. I’ve figured out as much.
That doesn’t change the fact that it feels inherently broken. A skill where you have intentionally aim away from an enemy to hit them is counterintuitive and clunky as all hell.
I think thermite mines should sprout legs and burrow underneath enemies.
Seriously though enemies move around like there’s no tomorrow. Having the mine’s move would be annoying. The Sentinel is a good example of an enemy that just can’t stand still
That wasn’t your original claim, but I happen to agree with you on this. Every skill should have a good feel to it, and mines don’t. Grenado is also a skill that gets a lot of flak for being difficult to use (because it doesn’t pass thru enemies). Neither of these skills have had their mechanics improved for the expansion, apparently, because those improvements would have showed up for patch 1.0.2.0. This is a real shame. Maybe one day Crate will finally improve the mechanics of this and other problematic skills, but I kinda doubt it. They’ve had years to do it already.
