Trying to find out the best class to go along with a TSS build.
I’ve heard from 2 sites soldier is no good.
Not really understanding this properly.
I use soldier as a utility - I get physique - +res if I need it and
reduction in physique requirement for armour which is a godsend as I can wear good physique stuff and keep up hi Spirit for offhands.
Maybe wrong about this.
Any specific reasons why this is a poor subclass choice for a TSS BM and if so - what would be the best one to take.
It’s a poor choice because there’s no damage synergy. You’d be much better off with Shaman, Nightblade, or Occultist which can boost your cold or lightning damage and/or reduce the relevant enemy resists.
Anything you’d get from Soldier can be gotten from equipment, or just by putting attribute points into Physique. You’re not going to end up short of spirit when wearing Arcanist gear and maxing Inner Focus.
I’s say it is actually. For an elemental battlemage specifically.
Try it with iskandra set (yes with the tome off hand instead of shield) + cadence and Discord transmuter with Beronath reforged sword. There is your synergy.
You can get debuffs flat from Rhowan’s crown. Some -% resists from Solael devo and widow - use reckless power for Aether flat damage and more profit from widow-(not hard to get them both and proc them well) and any devotions you see fit…Charriot for Oa, Behemoth etc.
PS: Imade Aether battlemage both two handeed and one handed and works fine as well.
