Why siding against Barrowholm?

Let’s ignore their culinary habits, which is a fair reason* for the ones who wants to get along the history and “role play” their characters when playing.

*to be hostile… or friendly.

What brings to the table being hostile to them? Reaper* pants can be obtained in crucible/Shattered realm and, even if you’ve all the Barrowholm’s blueprints and the 3 variants of the ravager’s helmets, you loose a bunch of augments. But whatever. Imagine that you to make characters who don’t use their augments. None of them. Never. You still gains nothing.

Unless I’m missing out on several exclusive MIs that, like Kaisan’s pendants, can’t be dropped in Shattered Realm/Crucible, I don’t understand it.
But even tho, you’d only need 1 character to farm their MIs, like it happens with the outcast

TL;DR: Title

** errata: I meant reaper pants

Also access to a cellar when you’re hostile with them and kill Scorv.

As i recall, that dungeon doesn’t have anything special besides being good for farming reputation.

About the reaper, as a challenge It’s the decaffeinated version of the ravager and his pants can be obtained in crucible/SR.

If I remember correctly, there was a patch that changed some MIs to drop only in the cellar, with guaranteed drops from the altar at the end.

Read here.

  • Ugdenbog Arcaneweaver and Ugdenbog Boltthrower now drop exclusively from Barrowholm cultists. Drop rates increased accordingly. The altar at the end of the Barrowholm cellar now drops an assortment of wendigo-themed Monster Infrequents.

Okay, i missed that notes :eyes:

This is the case afterall. It’s good to have an incentive to be hostile with them

At the end of the cellar, Namadea drops a helm and a medal

Yes, but if you want to farm for particular affixes it’s much quicker if you can farm him in the cellar, and there are some other unique MIs there, as people have said.

I quite often go hostile with Barrowholm on SSF chars. The augments are not an issue as you can get to Revered in Elite, buy a hundred of each and then go hostile in Ultimate. The only real downside is that you can’t fight Ravager.

Besides what already been said, I’ll add another one:

  • when I don’t want the entire quest line.
