Wightmore Bridge Repair Site

Hello everyone,
I apologize in advance if this has been asked, I tried using the search function and Google and received no results. I was wondering if there is anything I’ll miss by not repairing the bridge and just taking the flooded passage. Being the monster slayer that I am, I’d rather take the flooded passage if repairing the bridge only results in a shortcut. Do you get reputation or does any event happen? Being lvl 15, 2500 iron is a lot plus like I said I’d rather slay the monsters for the loots and xp if I’m not missing anything cool. Thanks in advance to anyone that answers :).

What a fantastic game this is. I was worried that since I’ve logged over 1000+ hours on Path of Exile I would burn out real fast with a been there clicked that. But not at all, GD is different enough that the whole experience is fresh and exciting. I think players can enjoy both games because other than the overall ARPG thing, these games aren’t really the same at all. Thank you Crate and to all the people that backed this game originally so we could all experience it :D.

There is no need to repair the bridge. If it bugs you you can always come back later when(not if) you’re rich.

Yeah that’s probably what I’ll end up doing, I need to go back to that passage anyways because I didn’t have an item (wont say for spoilers). Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to miss reputation or something for fixing the bridge or maybe an event would happen because the bridge was fixed. Thank you for taking the time to respond.

I actually thought you got a small xp reward for repairing the bridge, but it’s been a while since I used that option. Most people just repair the bridge if they want to fast track to act 2 after having many characters. It definitely pays to go through the passage since you can often get an ancient heart from the shambler.

I always go through Flooded Passage because of the devotion shrine. If I need to go to Depraved Sanctuary I’ll just use the rift near where Duncan is/was. Therefore, I never repair the bridge.

That bridge is kinda trivial to begin with but I used it once when I farmed the Depraved Sanctuary because it was slightly faster. You’re meant to go through the Flooded Passage early on because you come out to an immediate portal and a small campsite with the blacksmith quest. You pass up a lot of potential for early xp and gear by ignoring Flooded Passage.

I probably won’t continue fixing that bridge because the run from the other portal nearby isn’t much longer.

the bridge is only there to introduce you to the mechanic and nothing else.

The bridge is to make it easier for your friends from Devil’s Crossing to get to Burrwitch once you’ve made it safe :stuck_out_tongue: I always repair it, for altruistic reasons!

There is an achievement to kill Warden Krieg with a character under level 10 or 12 dont remember exactly. I guess you can have better chances at that by repairing the bridge because you can avoid getting exp through the flooded passage and reach the Warden faster.

There is: a shrine, a boss, and a secret area unlocked by dynamite.

Yeah thats also why i didnt go back and fix it because i wanted to have a reminder to go back. Once 2500 isnt much at all to gather or i get the dynamite, i was going to go fix the bridge just for completions sake and to blast that wall in the passage i had to pass by. The green items worth like 15k-20k in the shops are just a tease having to look at them, drool and pass them up because its impossible to get them levels 10-15 unless you buy absolutely nothing. The other thing that is mildy irritating is having the shopkeeper reroll the inventory AS YOU ARE LOOKING AT IT. I litterally was selling stuff in order to buy an item and it switched and disappeared right before my eyes. But, if the tradeoff is that you dont have to wait for level ups for the items to switch thats acceptable.

While im talking about the shopkeepers, the other thing i dont like is even if you walk away from them a decent distance, ill open my inv and go to place say a polished gem into a piece of gear, hit right click and it will sell it to the shopkeeper. Its not too bad because you can just buy it right back, but i dont understand why even if i dont have the shop window open and i walk away from them i can still sell my inv to them. Is this a bug?
