Will 1000 population be the maximum forever?

My population reached 1000 today and I have capacity for more than 1000 but it would appear that my population will never exceed that number of residents.

When I hit 1000 no more people migrated nor were there any births that would put me over that number.

Please tell me this is only temporary. I am playing on a large map and I want to see how big I can make my town and also how expansive it can get. I’ll admit I was disappointed to see I couldn’t get over 1000 people but it could be due to something in-game that the devs may not yet have covered or whatever it is but I do hope it gets expanded.

Yes, this is only a temporary performance measure so we don’t get reports about 0.5 framerate at 3000 population.

As the game is optimized further, we will lift this cap.
