The real fix would to be to stop supporting an OS Microsoft no longer supports. I can’t even imagine the wasted man hours each year making stuff work on it.

Well, not everyone can afford a modern computer - there are still many people out there playing with hardware thats 8 years or older, and for these machines win xp is the perfect partner compatibility like.
