WIP: Onehand and shield Warder

Hello everybody!

I’m thinking of rolling a warder following something like this build:

grimcalc.com/build/1GMdf6

Now I have some questions:

1: Is storm touched worth it for this build or should I remove it for more in blade arc and Savagery

2: In the same vein as 1 are Markovian’s Advantage and Zolhan’s Tech worth it or am I better off putting those points into the holes in the build?

3: Are the devotions serviceable or should I add something else. The build is obviously focused on physical damage and internal trauma.

Any critique is welcome although I’m going through with my plan for rolling with one-hand and shield.

Hey Podd.

1- Depends on what you want from Storm Touched. If you just want the AS, then at 2/12 you have an average AS of 5/2 = 2,5% per level, while at 6/12 you have 7/6 = 1,17% and at 12/12 you have 10/12 = 0,83%. This means you can remove 4 points losing only 2% AS (disregarding all other bonuses, ofc).

That said, unless you want the 7% AS from Storm Touched, I would make Savagery 16/16. You gain one charge level, more % weapon damage, flat bleeding and more % bleeding damage, that helps your Blade Arc.

NOTE: If you decide to keep the same build you have, I suggest going 3/12 Squad and 9/12 Storm Touched instead, since is literally better (same physical damage and AS, but higher electrocute and lightning damage).

2- I would leave them at 1/12 each if I were you. Chances are that when you reach lvl 75 you will have at least +1/2 to Soldier skills, pumping their chance to 12/15%, which is good enough.

There’s not enough incentive to pump them beyond 20%, so just leave them at 1/12 and enjoy the extra 8 skill points, and let your gear take care of the proc chance.

3- Your devotion is broken, but it can be fixed by removing the bugged Hawk point and adding it to blue Crossroad, since you need 4 Blues for the Boar.

A more offensive approach can be achieved by going with these devotions. Basically you lose Tortoise and Dryad to get Scales, Eel and Lion. All in all I think your devotions are pretty good, I’m just not really fan of Tortoise and Dryad.

NOTE: Grim Dawn Build Editor is better for devotion planning, since it’s a simulation. Hell, it’s all around better than grim calc, only downside is that you must copy to grim calc if you wanna link it.

I would go with this build. Hope any of this helps, and have fun!

Looks pretty good!

I’m going to modify to something similar. About devotions, I really like Dryad. Binding it to Blitz procs it every time I use it which means I can get away quickly and heal, while doing damage simultaneously. I’'m going to try to work it in somehow.

Is tip the scales really that good?

Edit: If i do Dryad and Scales and not Autumn Boar and Tortoise I have nine spare devotion points. Any ideas how I should spend them?

Going all Phys/Internal trauma/Bleed, and no Lightning for this build snice I have the items for one or the other but not both.

Edit 2: Thanks for all the help, by the way

Scales is really good versus several mobs, since it basically will keep proccing until they die. When fighting bosses it might not be that useful (still heals some though).

But like I said, it’s more of a personal choice to be honest, I don’t like having more than 2 on attack/critical devotions. There’s nothing wrong having Tortoise and Dryad, keep testing them until you find something confortable to play with.

Keep in mind that the “real” build happens when you get most of the end game gear, which will probably give you + class/all skills. Don’t worry if your skill points look sparse now.

Moving this to a new reply for visibility

I’m thinking of going with falcon and hawk to round out my constellations.

Hopefully this will be fun to play!

Thanks for the help!
