Witchblade Critique

Hey all this is my second hardcore character that I am working on. Really wanted to make something myself and use some of the things I have learned about character building over the past 200 hours.

Would really appreciate some feedback at the hopes it improves my understanding of devotions and skills. I don’t need this to kill celestial bosses I just want to endgame farm anywhere i please without too much worry. I especially want to be able to deal with nemesis bosses.

Thanks in advance guys!

Reread my post. For clarity I wanted to do a two handed scythe boy and landed on this bleed and vitality damage lad.

Well unfortunately a lot of problems and gaps in your build :

  • every two hander goes for Kraken ( it’s not even debatable)
  • every vitality setup goes for Ratosh for the RR
  • every melee toon goes for 100% Armor absorption , especially Soldier setups
  • 2 x Mythical signets of the fallen don’t stack ( RR that comes from the same source don’t stack ) you need Cursebearer if you want another ring with vit RR
  • Crowd Control resistance are quite low as well
  • Behemoth makes no sense in this setup ,overall stacking life regen on a Vitality setups is huge mistake
  • not enough Resistance shred and vitality builds are very punishing already when single RR masteries combo

It looks like you got inspired by Crab_Turtle Death Knight and turn it into something less optimal ( I might be wrong but both specs pretty close )

Some great tips! Thank you. Mind answering a couple follow ups?

Why is Kraken considered so good for 2Handers? To my eye it just looks like attack speed, health and damage.

I dont understand the life regen and vitality setup point. I am thinking by vitality setup you mean vitality damage. From context it sounds like an HP thing somehow but i dont understand.

I thought resistance shred from the axe and curse would be plenty. I adapted from a build that was not another witchblade, but I found crab_turtle’s death knight and see he used Rattosh and had spectral wraith and the axe. So is three sources enough for vitality? I love that Crab_Turtle Death Knight build btw, thanks for the clue in on that.

Thanks!

Kraken it’s not just good it’s amazing for the price of 5 points , massive attack speed ( two handers comes with huge penalty to attack speed Kraken fix that ) , massive damage , crit damage multi , massive life boost and physical resistance, Kraken is not something you taka around on two hander - you build around Kraken . Vitality damage setups don’t stack life regen cause pointless you stack leech and other deffensives also without cooldown reduction Behemoth is bad move . There is not such thing as “enough vitality resistance reduction” cause enemies keep high vitality resistance especially bosses and bigger targets ( some of them have 12 and 0% + Vit Res) every devotion map should take it’s -%resistance option in your case Ratosh

In grim dawn we say health when we mean health, not vitality.

Rattosh also grants life leech resistance reduction, which mean you will have better attack damage converted to health.
