I followed this guide somewhat closely. I was fortunate that I had all of the BIS gear lying around, including an Eldritch Gaze and the Judicators signets, which made it easy to get into quickly. I’ve tried a number of different skill and devotion setups in an attempt to tweak and optimize the OP’s layout. I can tell you he has done his research and playtesting, because I keep coming back to this original one. The only small tweaks I made were to take the points out of Decorated Soldier and put one each in Blitz and Blindside for extra mobility, and the rest towards maxing out Aspect of the Guardian for more Physical resist. I did take Hungering Void since my health regen can easily support it, and the proc itself is amazing when maxed out.
The only complaint I have is that the synergy between the two classes really seems to lie in physical damage. Theoretically the -phys resist from Break Morale and Curse of Frailty should stack, which would make a Stonefist Rebuke physical build really strong.
Regardless, great job by the OP. I’m having a blast with this guy.
So I am already 73lvl and got some of the BiS items, but I have problems dealing with Nemesis(Fabius) although my res are capped. Any suggestion? I guess when I get more BiS it will get better.
Also is Field Command really that good? I mean I couldn’t tell the difference with and w/o it.
Just from a cursory glance, it looks like your armor and defensive ability is quite low. Unbuffed my DA is 2377, armor is 1614, and 33% physical resist with Aspect of the Guardian up. My guess is he’s getting crits on you pretty easily which spells disaster. I would work on your damage mitigation if I were you, and field command is a great way to do just that. I keep it maxed out. Hope this helps.
his DA at lvl 73 should be uncrittable as far as i know. low armor while a factor, is generally not as big of a deal vs bosses, mostly an issue vs trash.
he probaby has trouble not due to DA but due to lack of enough hp recovery. which is a general problem with 2h witchblades. the lack of a strong healing ability or self regen. blood of dreeg on a 15s CD is not enough. dryad + ToL might be the only way to get enough hp recovery for the harder fights like sharzul/madqueen etc.
Yes, my DA is uncritable(0%) and I have no problems with trash mobs. Also my HP regen is 114 w/o blood of dreeg and 290 with it. I guess that is very low.
So I will try to give FoC some points and see if Dryad will help.
EDIT(after testing): With Dryad I face-tank Fabius without problems. The Madqueen is also not a problem.
If I want to take Tree of Life too then I need to remove Dying God which is -3k damage. However the no need of potions(and even more HP regen) compensates for that.
EDIT2: For anyone else(like me) who has problems with surviving try this devotion. I guess when you got all the BiS items you can go back to dying god.
It all really depends on what you are trying to do with a character. After having multiple 85s that have finished Ultimate, I tend to use specific characters for specific tasks. This build was never meant to destroy Nemesis, it was more focused on beating up the main story on all difficulties without using one of the OP sets, but rather using leftovers in the stash. As such it was never optimized for nemesis or tough fights (like the queen). I am glad to see others tweaking the build to make it work in those fights.
i took the plunge and switched over to physical damage to take advantage of the phys resist debuffs. It works incredibly well since the debuffs and maxed blade arc give you all the dps you really need, freeing up the entire devotion tree and most skill points for defense. I have been farming Shar’zul, Alkamos, Fabius, Valdaran, Benn jahr, sentinel, etc on ultimate with ease. Literally face tanking them. Makes me sad to see the Obsidian Juggernaut back in my stash, but this toons clear speed is faster and more reliable than my Lazy Pokemon summoner or bleeding heart trickster.
I am gonna post my variation of this build cause i think it is really good !
-15k life
-60.000 Cadence dps (single target)
-40.000 Blade arc dps ( Close arera AoE)
-All resists maxed except Aether sitting at 40% (got 2 aether souls so 12%less aether dmg taken)
-13% Damage Absorbtion
-Decent armor with 88% Armor absorb
-And of course 28% attack damage leeched as life + blood of dreeg = great sustain
*My only bad thing is the average offensive ability that i have which is kind of important. Fighting spirit is really important to be up.
I highly reccomend playing my build especially in HC. It may not kill fabius in 15 seconds and BoC in 8 mins but that is the way i like playing my chars, HC focused.
I decided to try this build, with one big change - instead of Blade Arc I went for Forcewave, with Tremor attached since the build revolves around a two-handed weapon anyway. Since it’s more ranged than Blade Arc and has no maximum targets, it kills a lot of mobs before they can even get close, so it’s a bit safer. Thanks for posting the general idea, though, it works wonders for HC.
Can anyone post gameplay of this build on Ultimate? I am curious to see how it performs. I noticed in a lot of the screenshots that the OA/DA seem low, but people mention face-tanking Nemesis bosses, which makes me curious. Most of the builds I see generally seem to show 2.5-3k OA and 2.1-2.3k DA on Ultimate in order to accomplish this safely/effectively.
I really enjoy 2-handed builds, so thanks for this! Currently one of the builds I am leveling.
