Hi all, I just started and this game is amazing! I burned through a few characters to get a feel for the game and now I think I’ve settled on a witchblade. Based on that I tried to put together what I think I want my witchblade to look like in the end - doing some combination of vitality damage/chaos/bleed damage and trying to be a bit tanky and leeching HP. She’s really lacking on resists from what I see on the grimtools and I’m not sure about AoE potential either. Any advice on items/devotion/skill tree/augments/components I’d love to hear. Thank you!
PS I dont have the expanion yet so I’m capped at lvl 85 and 50 devotion points I think.
I’m by no means an expert but I am also making a sword/shield WB on Hardcore mode so it may be a bit more defensive than you are looking for. Also, I’m focusing on the Abomination Devotion instead of the Dying God and targeting chaos/vitality/poison damage instead of chaos/vit/bleed.
My main suggestion however, is that you have both Possession and Menhir’s Bulwark. They won’t work together as they are both exclusive skills so you can only have one. The other thing is that Bulwark only works if you have a shield so as a 2H user, you might as well drop it. The other thing is, that you should have at least 1 point in almost all the passive skills because you will end up with + skills that unlocks a lot of value for your character. For example, you noted low resist. If you took 1 point into Decorated Soldier and ended up with +2 or 3 skills, that 1 point will net you about 12-15 elemental resist.
EDIT: Also, verify this before you take it to heart, since I’m far from an expert. But, if you convert your physical damage to chaos, it may gimp your bleeding damage based on that DoT guide that is stickied in the build forum.
It’s using more attack speed % to focus on the flat damage provided from abomination and occultist tree. Also, tainted eruption will provide more aoe with a 10 meter radius. The last 24 points would most likely go into sigil of consumption tree as that ability is just amazing, even for tanks. In fact, I’m currently using it to level up with and the substain + damage it provides is superb. You just drop it on a boss and sit in the sigil and face tank.
Thanks so much for your input! Great catch with the exclusive skills. That makes a whole lot more sense. Also, your build looks pretty sweet. Hope you’re having fun with it!
