What benefit does having additional workers at the market provide? Adding workers does not seem to have any noticeable effect on the income provided, so what do they add?
They deliver food, firewood, soap, water, and luxuries to Shelters, so your other villagers with other jobs aren’t constantly stocking them

Thank you. I presumed they were involved with stocking because markets have barrels and show storage items. So how do additional workers affect this? I surmise that they may have an effect on the speed of stocking or distributing to shelters, but it doesn’t seem significant if so. My shelters never run out of needed supplies no matter how many workers I assign to the market.
That will be because, rather than doing their jobs, your villagers are stocking them in a very slow and inefficient way. Market workers do this job very well, and can carry multiple types of food at once to stock a house, or load up on water or firewood and go house to house without having to restock in between.

Got it! Thanks! Market workers can speed up the process of both stocking the market and distributing supplies to residents. Resulting in an overall improvement to the transit and supply of materials overall.
Not something where the impact is easily observed but still of benefit.

Also having the marketeers stocking the houses in their work areas means the villagers living in those houses aren’t taking time off their work to stock the houses themselves. So make sure that all your housing is within a market’s radius. If they’re outside it also means you’re not getting any taxes from them since markets deal with that too.

I had absolutely no idea.
Do not let your markets stock Raw Meat, Raw Fish or Raw Milk.
These items spoil quickly, this causes many extra trips to keep stocked.
It will significantly reduce the workload of Market Workers doing this, and help keep your shelters stocked well enough to advance, while your other workers do their jobs, rather than chasing after shelter stocking.
Keep your Flour, Bread and Pastry stocks very low, too.
Both spoil very fast, so you don’t want to waste a lot of wheat by processing it too early.
Level 1 = 50 max Bread & Flour
Level 2 = 100 max Bread, Pastry & Flour

I recommend you increase the number of market worker with the number of the houses within the circle. Maybe, the capacity of 1 worker is for about 15 houses, so it’s nice to make a new residential area when you have the houses are 50-60.
In my case, 1 market (T2, 4 workers) isn’t enough to deliver to them all when there are 68 houses within the circle.
