Worst SR map ever?

To be fair, i never tinkered with camera positioning - it’s massively disorienting for me, so I just don’t touch it. However, I was under impression that aggro behavior being reliant on camera was patched out a couple of years ago. IIRC, that was the change that prompted the split of bosses in guardian rooms.

The weird aggro is absolutely a bane of my existence though. From offscreen, some inane garbage will randomly reach the second line of the bosses, and WELL HELLO THERE. Then they never fully reset even if you die. It actually happens on bigger maps too, but rarely. Sphinx arena? Yeah, well, time to test how good the given build is at double-pulling.

If you fight against Moosi and his minions you can easily aggro the neighbouring boss to him in any boss room map even if you are far away from him.

The same with Zantarin after he spawns his minions.

Not always, like maverick mentioned summons can make a real mess of aggro in such a confined space. Also, there’s a good number of bosses that have some pretty massive area denial or demand manoeuvering space and if you happen to get two of those bosses as your first encounters on that map, you’re pretty boned. I’m talking stuff like Grava, Moose, Korvaak, Gargabol, Kaisan etc. If your first encounters on that map are something like Grava and Kaisan, pick your poison, either you’re gonna have to take the damage and debuff from Kaisan crystals for a bit while tanking him until you can break the crystals, or you’ll have to deal with the dispell panic (my break from GD might be showing there, I’m not sure whether Grava’s dispell still homes).

neither do i, not even back when we had to

pull proper, or facetank?

it’s my understanding some stuff is fixed and can’t spawn XYZ

not seen this issue

*i’m not trying to be a contrarian and argumentative, my position is perhpas we’re playing different, thus noticing, or not noticing certain behaviours, simply unaware of “strats” making us able to not have the same issue in the same boss room

on 75-76, nem spawns are fixed and dictated, they will always spawn SE and NW, kaisan, grava etc spawning SE does not present that issue on anything i’ve played,
likewise zantarin or mossi spawning NW doesn’t present that issue, as you can just clear the SW boss first.

Likewise i’m under the impression we’re playing the same facetank simulator, and with sunder and phys dmg changes the age of glass cannons is long over? - what are you guys kiting so much for you run out of room?

if we’re talking sr 90 (atleast i’m assuming from maverick that’s the default); then that’s tough noogies, it’s intended to be absurd, so i have no real sympathy nor issue with that, and 310% don’t think pulling a map from the pool should be considered from that.

It homes, but distance it travels is much more reasonable nowadays. You start under the sphinx wing, you pull back to the mid section, and they will fall along the way.

The real pain is the shattered bosses. Some of them you need to legitimately move a screen away.

… go around the statue so it smashes on impact… it’s faster and safer than moving around a lot

You have way better piloting than me.

Also, I can second Moosa being a particularly shining example of those BS pulls. Either his horde pulls him in, or wanders off and spreads something to another boss. It’s not exclusive to him, but it’s him like 60% of time.

For the SR brackets - I’m talking 80 and up. 80 is the last shard you meet normal bosses, 81 is always a mix of nemesis and shattered. Considering the ongoing powercreep, and the fact that Crate themselves released a new waystone and announced increase of Crucible waves in FoA, I don’t think SR75 will cut it as a benchmark for much longer.

i sincerely hope that wont be the case, but agree with your assesment, and have voiced it (disagreebly) several times already :pensive:
but until that changes/Z officially states otherwise, the target frame is 75/76 (30/31)

trust me i suck  i just have a bunch of practice breaking balls and pulling slow (rarely do multi boss pulls even on ex top20 style builds)

Really hope not. Campaign is already trivial on any build that does SR65 or (even lower). If the normal is that any decent build should be able to do 80+ what kind of content are you supposed to play?

Ascended mode! What a devious scheme by Crate, buff our chars to trivialise content, then make us pay for an expansion the make the campaign harder again. Such treachery. Where do I preorder?

@lMarcusl @Serafim_94
alright so i did 2 quick runs (yes yes i know i’m “cheating” i’m on a ranged char but melees can do it too i just don’t have one loaded)
i was lucky and get sphinx room early/ once in each run, got Garga in SE spawn and a run with Mossi in NW spawn, no Grava ball breaking sry, and no combo Zante Mossi spawn etc (cba to run all night)

also @mad_lee look, Candle District can be populated

Ascendant mode
my “devils advocate” concern then is just that simply ushers in a new era of buff requests and powercreep, because people can’t be fine with X build doing X content in X time without needing to push it

.
Sort of. Not sure how it will work obviously, but I hope that will be a challenge for the average end game build.

Also while we wait for next year’s Christmas (or hopefully sooner), it shouldn’t be the norm.

I also fear this myself. Maybe it’s just fear of the unknown? Idk.

What’s new though? :yum:

Like, we’re getting Stoneguard buffs next patch. Because phys retal is considered underpowered by the theorycrafting community. Maybe it is, I’m not going to argue with people who actually know what they are doing. But. Warlord retal buffs.

And ranged is underpowered too apparently. Guess I’ll just wait for Dagallon to enter next top20.

It’s easier when you have wider perspective about game’s balance. We (top20 crowd) min-max and play so many builds, way more than than we have guides or videos about. When you play legitimately and you have like 5-10 level 100 characters some of them not fully geared it’s likely that your perspective on what’s good will be quite a bit different.

Yeah, I hate that map. It’s a time wasting labyrinth with low enemy counts. Personally any maps with low density mobs is kinda PITA for me.

Also the tentacle at the left side at small boss room, it’s often blocks Devastation, TSS, meteor, etc. And below that tentacle is a boss spawning point. Often not a problem because I can simply lure them out, but slow enemies like Zantarin and 3 councils are kinda PITA if they spawns at that spot.
