Yet one more reason why I love this game

Okay, I have done FoA content up to Beronath in Normal Mode with 2 characters and Elite Mode with 1 character. I am on my 3rd character and found a secret area that I didn’t find with my first 2 characters. I found it completely on accident. I was just exploring the area, Pilgrim’s Rest, and I kept on going in a direction that I thought should have been a dead end, especially looking at the map.

Now, I am sure there are many players that have found most (if not all) of the hidden gems in FoA, but I am definitely not one of them. This is what I found.

After finding that place and getting some juicy lore, I was curious to see if I can get any info online. Probably, right? I am sure many people have posted about it or there will be some super in-depth details on some Grim Dawn database sight.

^^^^^^^^^ Yeah, that’s what came up. Tied to specific quests and offerings? Hmmmm. Okay. Now I am really going to search every nook and cranny to see what other cool stuff that Crate hid for us to find.

So… now I am off to see what other cool stuff I can find.

Note: The name Bal-Eigan got me in the mood to listen to some Bal-Sagoth.

Edit.

It’s next to these 2 tricksters.

AI is mixing up burial grounds/Bal-Eigan with other stuff/there is not chain quest for this one

You can decipher the Bal-Eigan unlock via the lore notes you obtained to get there

(or you can brute force it since the game doesn’t care it seems/there is no counter measures to prevent random guessing )

Sounds about right. AI as in Almost Intelligent. I guess Earth is safe from Skynet for many years.

Oh, bummer. Would have been cool if it was part of a chain of quests. I can never remember the info from the lore notes. I tend to find stuff by accident, like the Hidden Path in the core game. I played maybe a half a dozen characters before I found the note behind that attackable wall near the shrine on the way to Fort Ikon.
