you nerfed maiven's sphere of protection a bit too hard

i get that it was OP for a long time but i think in b30 it was actually in a really good place. taking it into ultimate levels was a meaningful investment; required a lot of points and gearing choices, but was rewarding.

now it’s actually abysmal. i don’t think it has a place on any build. 20% absorption for 10% less damage (and more, given the physical damage reduction) and a huge energy cost is really awful.

i get that the class was too good as a secondary for too long, but this isn’t d3 with seasons and stuff, there’s no need to have a rotating door of which class is OP and which isn’t. you buffed occultist and demolitionist so heavily that they would have competed very well with b30 arcanist. why was this not good enough? why can’t every class be good as a secondary?

The scaling is awkward as well. 10% Damage Absorb at Rank 3. Then it takes another 9 ranks to get the other 10%. At the moment I’m putting 1 point in and letting +Skill do the rest. :undecided:

I agree.
5% less damage absorption nerf seems OK, but removing of dodge chance seems to be the reason now its weak. The increase in damage taken now is obvious.

Yeah, I’ll get Mavien’s to 3 with my melee battlemage, and stop there now. Even though Menhir’s bulwark was silent nerfed from 15% dam. absorption to 12% at max level. And even though I don’t use Maviens as perma-buff, only usually turn it on in areas with aether ground, or in (rare) case I was hit very hard by enemies.
