Magnificant spoils refers to Darius Cronley kills.
Out of 60 runs, he dropped 25 of his rings and 11 Tainted Brain Matters.
The wasp heroes did not drop a single Ancient Heart (maybe they can’t drop from wasp heroes?)
Legendaries seemed to drop evenly from heroes, Cronley, and Fabius. At least two dropped from Direni in these runs, so I’d recommend opting not to kill him in Ultimate for being a traitor as he gives the reputation of a boss whilst being easy to kill and adding another guaranteed hero to the run.
Dynamite always dropped from Moneybags, as well as in the guaranteed spot and sometimes in scrap piles. Some heroes would rarely drop it too.
The rates from this run are quite decent - roughly one legendary per 10 minutes, and the dynamite drops are enough to dismantle all the worthless epics you will undoubtedly get (http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41650).
All in all, I was surprised when this run had a better legendary rate than Twin Falls, because I seemed to be killing far more heroes in Twin Falls (or at least, they seemed to be denser). This result is possibly influenced by the changes in 1.0.0.4, where drop-rates were buffed. Either way, Cronley’s Hideout is a decent run to do, and the MI that Cronley drops is fantastic, and probably worth farming for itself.
I have done 28 FH runs to get to nemesis getting 6 legendaries out of which 4 came from bees but a lot of mats and brain/heart/blood from dismantling epics
Would it be worth it to check just outside the entrance from Cronley’s Hideout riftgate for the 1+ heroes that spawn there? It definitely adds a good 30+ seconds so it might not be that fruitful after all.
My next run is of Bastion of Chaos floor 1, which occasionally has Ben’Jahr on the way (so far, out of 20 runs I haven’t had him once, but I know he does spawn when I did a preliminary test).
Bastion of Chaos floor 1 runs seem decent from initial running, as there are lots of heroes that drop Blood of Ch’thon, as well as a guaranteed trove to get. While not as fast as Shrine, I think this may well be the next best thing… but don’t take my word for it yet - I’m going for either 75 or 100 runs this time, so we’ll see what the data says!
You mention running specific paths on these runs Mr Potato. Would it be possible to see your run on a map? Even just a quickly splashed together MS paint job on this map would be greatly appreciated.
I know when I see the paths people run I always end up finding I’m being terribly inefficient…
Cronley’s Hideout is my favorite instance to run. I have run it more than anything else in the game by far.
Three Bosses
Possible Nemesis
Three + Heroes (one can spawn in Cronley’s room)
Lots of regular mobs
Can obtain Aether Clusters from Cronley’s room.
There can be chests in Cronley’s room
Moneybags always drops two items, one is guaranteed to be dynamite and the second will be dynamite or scrap. I always clear after Cronley as you can have another Hero.
Cronleys is okay. I find that the heroes don’t drop as many legendarys as I’d expect so I just stick to farming Fabius and BoC 1st floor. The run through Fabius yields loads of heroes as does BoC 1st.
No, I’m afraid I didn’t, although that is a good idea! I’ll try that trick for future runs (not Cronley’s, but somewhere else if it works). Thank you very much.
As for a map, I apologise if it looks like it was drawn by a four-year-old, my paint skills aren’t all that good. However, it should give you a rough idea:
Key:
Red Path: My route
Blue “dots”: Moneybags Martin spawn locations
Orange “dots”: Fabius spawn locations (I’ve found him in all four of those locations).
Green “dot”: Direni location.
Purple “dot”: Guaranteed dynamite location.
Hope that helps!
P.S. If anyone has a way of uploading files larger than 1MB, or if there is a format that is better than .png, please recommend, as I had to shrink this with my awful editing skills (paint) in order to upload. Thank you.
So do you skip the wasps on the south part of the map? I run the exact same path, with the exception of the wasps in the south loop…
Nice data again! I should really try collecting data like this sometime… I ran Cronley for a while trying to get a couple of nice rings and it felt like I got crap for legendries…even epics…maybe just a long bad run with RNG…
I’ve done probably over 100 1st floor BoC runs now and have only found benn there three times… I think he only has one spawn point on the east side of the bridge…only place I look for him… He spawns so rarely, don’t think running too far out of the trove to boss route would be that fruit for the time it would add if he was at other places…
In previous runs, you usually list “rare mats” as they can be converted to legendries. Have you already converted them in your legendries per hour rate? Do you have a rare mat/hour rate for Cronley runs? I guess if Cronley was the only one the drop a rare mat, then you already have the rate in there… I thought I remember getting a brain on a rare occasion for the heroes in there…
I don’t think wasp heroes can drop rare mats either… would have seen some doing all those TF runs, and can’t remember getting any… I don’t think the skeleton heroes drop any either…
Thanks for the data. Have to say though, this game is badly in need of some end game content (ala PoE maps/D3 nephalim rifts). Running the same act2 map over and over is going to get old real fast.
Yes, I do skip those wasps - not sure why really, it’s just how my run ended up
Ah, I didn’t even know he could spawn in BoC - there is a spawn point on the way (in the Necropolis) where I find him occasionally, and that’s the spawn I reference.
Since only Cronley dropped rare mats (aka brains), I decided not to include a column for it, but I can tell you that 60 kills of Cronley equated to 11 Tainted Brain Matters (that’s 18% chance for him to drop a tainted brain, this is probably 20%, accounting for random variation). And, no I haven’t converted this into a legendary, so the rate for legendaries is based solely off hero/boss/nemesis drop rate.
Likewise - I think killing a few hundred wasp heroes and bosses would have dropped an Ancient Heart by now, so I think we can say they don’t drop rare mats.
I’m glad you’re such a fan of my data collections! I personally find that if I turn farming into data collection, then it actually becomes more enjoyable. Probably because I love statistics
I find it really weird that Wasps do not drop Ancient Hearts, they are classified as Beastkin right? Are there any other types of monsters whose bosses do not drop rare mats?
Undead don’t have any rare mats associated with them. And of Cronley’s gang only the boss man himself drops a true rare mat. Rest can drop dynamite though.
