[1.0.0.4] Tri-element Saboteur 2.0 - A (mostly) craftable build. 15sec madqueen etc

Any chance you could give specifics on the stats (how much put in each category) you have? I dont have much time to play so I dont want to mess it up. Your guides are great and this would be much appreciated.

No respecs so I want to get this right!

meanwhile i made it through veteran. got golemborn greaves as logghean reward, once i checked my inventory it was havoc and not golemborn  also got conflagration as a quest reward earlier which didn’t show up at my inventory at all

Wouldn’t the[Elite Chosen Flamecaller](https://gracefuldusk.appspot.com/items/6968-Elite-C ecaller) be better then the Firestarter?
I mean you’re getting hit all the time anyway, it’s impossible to avoid so both would easily proc allowing it to stack (I assume it would stack seen all procs are individual…) Which would more then make upfor the loss in attack speed I think…
Herald of Blazing Ends would be a good choice as well, absolutely huge damage proc, significant boost to BWC and a little resistance to boot as well, although it is pretty expensive to make.

it doenst have attackspeed or flat firedmg, its also a mace with very slow base attackspeed

Flamecaller is a scepter with higher base damage which is pure fire damage the auras hit every second for 8secs you can have both auras up at the same time pretty much trippling damage and they have average speed not very slow

Herald converts to fire damage and has average speed not very slow and the other states provide significant damage boost plus the proc is like 8 times stronger

i’m fairly convinced legion firestarters will significantly outdps herald/flamecaller. the only thing i find that comes close is ortus+firestarter.

you can test both setups on a dummy or something. let me know ur results~
i’m happy to be proven wrong

I don’t actually have the items or character anymore just going by what I remember back when first had access to the weapons

I am tempted to make the character again though considering yours can take out mogdrogen (although require pretty expensive gear but cheaper then others) so when I do I will let you know

Just thought i’d mention that this build is actually fun to level. Most other builds use the same main skills up to 75 ish before respeccing into something more fun, this one is enjoyable from the beginning.

I’m am about to try this build but have a few questions. Is it better to use 2 Grim Fate over firestarters? or there is no straight upgrade in terms of weapons for this build at all?

I´m going to say no, because the base damage of that is physical and not fire!

Yeah a pure fire base + even more bonus fire >>>>>>>> the phys + conversion on grim fate. You also lose bigger fire bonus, OA, attack speed as well and starter proc is much better for single target. +1 demo is always great ofc, but the cdr/mine bonuses are worthless so it’s just not worth at all huge dps loss

That being said dual wielding grim fates is really fun I made a melee dw pyromancer and it’s pretty fun in packed areas getting mad corpse explosions

The problem with most weapons in Grim Dawn is that they have flat physical damage on them with only a percent conversion to fire or any other type of damage.

When Jajaja had his last build up, I used Legion Firestarters as they are 100% fire damage to go with a high fire damage dealing character. The fire damage done is VERY nice.

yes, there are two types of damages in a FS build.
A. flat dmg from gear/OTHER skills like flametouched, or base weapon dmg
B. flat dmg from firestrike line such as static strike , brimstone.

A. gets amplified by %weapon dmg such as firestrike+explosive strike (150% when both are 12/12), this in turn is multiplied by things like execute similar to blademasters using shard of beronath. This is also reduced by things like whirling death with <100% weapon

B. is always the same, is not affected by % weapon dmg , nor % weapon dmg on the WPS procs, so brimstone will always add the same flat dmg regardless of what lvl your firestrike+explosive are and whether u proc an execute or a whirling death.

stormhearts were so good bbecause they easily cap out the pre nerf SS. right now, reason we dont use things like grimfate is that the focus has shifted to stacking flat dmg on high % weapon dmg FS with maxed FS+explosive strike; similar to what BMs do. As such +skills do not matter as much anymore since SS is shit and we are mostly ignoring chaos dmg, so the non-weapon% scaling flat fire dmg on brimstone going from say lvl 16 to 17 is not a big factor at all.

To this end stacking IAS in the form of weapons with fast base speed + IAS such as legion daggers, and pure % firedmg, which is very high on legion daggers, combined with a very strong pure fire proc that shotguns, makes it very hard to beat. because we don’t have a strong shadowstrike like BM’s, attackspeed is even more important, as besides procs, autoattacking accounts for all our dmg.

as I said earlier, even not counting the procs, equiping almost anything else results in a major dps loss. the only exception i found was ortus, which has a good amount of flat fire and very fast attack speed.

in any case u want to keep at least one dagger to get the oklain’s lantern bonuses

Just looking at potential other options, I was wondering about a Two-Handed build using Infernal-Brimstone ?

You can go 2h firestrike and brimstone is a fun weapon, but it’s not as good as any dual wield variant. There is also 0 point to going nightblade if you want to go 2hander

Of course

I have an 85 of your previous setup, think I’ll switch him over to this to try out this week.

Question: Would Dracarris be an upgrade to the Legion Firestarter?

firestarter has extra IAS, OA, %dmg, flat dmg, and strong proc. this out weights the +1 as mentioned above

Even this one? http://imgur.com/a/iLtmx

I’m going to assume your answer is still yes but just checking as the graceful dusk uses the base roll I assume?

Also follow up question before I head out for the night, Why Golembone Greaves? Is it for the retaliation proc?

Thanks! <3

I’m going to add on to these equipment questions. What do you think of Faceguard of Justice vs Mask of Infernal Truth. Same fire damage increase and slightly more flat fire damage on the Justice helm. Then it comes down to Justice’s resists vs slightly more hp and chance to avoid projectiles from the Mask. I’d say all those things kinda equal out so it comes down to the 4 piece proc from Justice vs +1 demo and +2 vindictive flame. Thanks for your time
