  1. Short description (core of this BD):
Summoner is actually a powerful trend yet fragile, by devoting all emphasises on the minions this character delivers an easy conjurer build that is different from most of the current main stream builds, all damage delivered from your companions instead of yourself!

In fact this BD was mature at 1.0.0.4, with the buff to beastcaller’s set in 1.0.0.5, and adjustment to pets’ taunt mechanism in 1.0.0.6, the BD is able to conquer the Crucible in one-take, solely. Pet builds has been always popular since beta version of this game. But the trial of crucible forges this BD into an iron one.

In short, this BD differentiates itself from most “traditional” BDs in several ways:
(1) Survivability – All damages to the monsters are from the pets instead of you, leaving you more concentrated on your own survival.
(2) Higher outputs – All skills of this BD owns are specialised in enhancing the pets and debuffing the enemies, which in turn, shorten the time you deal with the enemies which in return will grant you higher chance of survival.
(3) Aggro management – Thanks to the new adjustment, the BD’s survivability in DLC is enriched by Hellhound’s Ember Claw, and Briathorn’s Ground Slam. In the case you caught attention, run to your pets XD

  1. PROS & CONS (Scoring from 1-5, Based on solo DLC 10x ex150 Gladiator)
  1. Single target damage
5/5: Superior, with all devotes to empower the pets, tons of damages your companions will deal with the monsters. Proved by the time dealing with Fabius Gonzar and Mad Queen.
    2)AOE
3.5/5: Adequate, what do you expect when the pets could finish one and one…and one? Less AOE is not a con here…through it is less significant compared with the single target damage
  2. Survivability
4/5: Outstanding, the reason with this score lies in two folds, first thanks (again) to the change in taunt mechanism, you could always seek help from your companions; second the faster your pets finish battle, the less chances you get hits.
  3. Mobility:
3.5/5: Adequate, normally you stay a distance from the monsters, casting debuff to the rivals and buff your pets, not much mobility is required.
  4. CC/Escape:
    3.5/5: Adequate, as above.

CONS:

  1. Less combat feeling – you always buff and debuff from a distance like a caster without actually casting magic but demanding words to your minions;
  2. Easy to fall asleep – zzzZZZ;
  3. The expected output is much lower when you do not own the right equip, will discuss later;
  4. Outstanding in deal with single target, however, less effective facing a full load of monsters.

Now my pleasure to introduce 987Y897; the creator of this build; one badass GD player who has devoted most of his time to pet builds and managed to make an ultimate reputation in our community through his study and his achievement.

well, in case someone is interested, here is the link to our Chinese community

yo will find a lot of fine 1005/1006 builds of all varieties that can solely fight through gladiator difficulty

3 Skills:http://grimcalc.com/build/jAl6bs4 real shots coming up later

  1. Gear selection:
Head: Beastcaller’s Cowl – (7% Aether Resistance, 7% Chaos Resistance) (Leathery Hide): 1 of the set of 5, the granted skill is a bonus and exceptionally useful.

Amulet: Sovereign Ruby of Domination – (+30% Fire Damage, +30% Burn Damage, 15% Chance of 10% Reduced target’s Damage for 5 Seconds, +2% Defensive Ability) (Black Tallow): The granted skill is a bonus and exceptionally useful, no other amulet is able to compete.

Ring1: Glyph of Kelphat’Zoth – (Bonus to All Pets: +10% Crit Damage, +3% Offensive Ability, +5% Attack Speed) (Frozen Heart): One of the core equipment for this BD, convert 30% of the pets’ physical damage to electric damage

Ring2: Glyph of Kelphat’Zoth – (Bonus to All Pets: +10% Crit Damage, +3% Offensive Ability, +5% Attack Speed) (Soul Shard): One of the core equipment for this BD, convert 30% of the pets’ physical damage to electric damage, same to ring1 but different in the attached material.

Mainhand: Spark of Ultos – (Bonus to All Pets: +3% Offensive Ability, +6% Attack Speed) (Imbued Silver): One core equipment for this BD as well, convert 30% of the pets’ physical damage to electric damage, the material is introduced to boost bleeding resistance and chaos resistance.

Off-hand: Will of the Living – (Bonus to All Pets: +3% Offensive Ability, +6% Attack Speed) (Enchanted Flint): introduced to boost elemental resistance, Chaos resistance and CDR. As the CD for Primal spirit is shortened, the output from the whole BD is expected to be higher. The granted skill is very helpful in saving your life.

Shoulders: Beastcaller’s Shoulderpads – (10% Pierce Resistance) (Silk Swatch): 1 of the set of 5, irreplaceable.

Hands: Touch of the Everliving Grove – (7% Aether Resistance, 7% Chaos Resistance) (Unholy Inscription): The granted skill healing wind could be triggered by cursing of the fragile, great for the “fragile” summoner.

Feet: Exalted Treads – (Stonehide & Haste) (7% Aether Resistance, 7% Chaos Resistance) (Mark of the Traveler): Forged with the smith, introduced to boost pierce, Poison & acid, and bleeding resistance. The material is used to get the character moving faster and offer resistance to slow.

Medal: Beastcaller’s Talisman – (Aether Soul): 1 of the set of 5, irreplaceable.

Waist: Voidmancer’s Cord – (7% Aether Resistance, 7% Chaos Resistance) (Antivenom Salve): The last piece of core equipment, be aware of the bonus to pets: 10% chance of +1000% Lightening damange.

Relic: Primal Instinct: THE most awesome relic for all summoners, little buggie buggies could give you half of the DPS you want from this BD.
Leg: Wildshorn Legguards – (7% Aether Resistance, 7% Chaos Resistance) (Silk Swatch): Simply no better leggings…

Chest: Beastcaller’s Shroud – (7% Aether Resistance, 7% Chaos Resistance) (Bindings of Bysmiel): Same as above…

more equipment screenshots at #11 & #12 of this post

  1. Devotion and assignment:
Shepherd’s Call – Assigned to Grasping Vines
Falcon Swoop – Assigned to Primal Spirit to enhance the output
Bysmiel’s commend – Assigned to Devouring Swarm
Eldritch Fire – Assigned to Briarthorn to offer AOE damage, and bring down your enemies’ resistance to Fire & Chaos
Acid Spray – Assigned to Hellhound to debuff the monsters’ all resistances
Rend – Assigned to Familiar to offer AOE damage, and bring down the menagerie’s OA
And Howl of Mogdrogen – Assigned to Curse of Fragile.

  2. Boss Challenges:
Before proceeds: you might see a lot of “keep a distance, let your companions to deal with it” as it is the summoner’s battle style, if you are a fan of close combat BD, then this might not be what you want.

Nemeses:
Benn’Jahr: Slow mover No. 1, keep a distance, let your companions deal with it.
Valdaran: Be aware: the nemesis would cast lightning bolt that will reduce your resistance, keep a distance, let your companions to deal with it.
Fabius: No need to worry about this one…if he tries to assassinate you, keep a distance (again) by using a “Z” shape route, let your pets do the rest.
Moosilauke: Slow mover No. 2, keep a distance, let your companions to deal with it.
Anasteria: Unfriendly to close combat BDs, keep a distance and get your pets involved.
The Iron Maiden: Hostile to BDs with low Physical Resistance, left her unconquered in 1.0.0.5. With the buff to Briarthorn and hellhound, choose gears to boost your character’s physical resistance, get your pets to bring her on~
Zantarin: Most fragile nemesis to summoners, keep a distance and get your pets to gank him…or it?

Special bosses:
Mad Queen: another fragile boss to summoners, only be aware of the abomination impale, run for your life when she turns red!
Loghorrean: e…fairly easy
The Sentinel: You’d better finish him when the battle only started, or get ready for a lengthy fight…

lueluelue!Primal Instinct is too OP!

BAR`S link! Y should give the link!

How about gladiator EX mode 150 with X10 all the time!

Interesting…

All other BDS (at least I 've made myself or seen here, ecpt the summoning warlock) try to get the char strong and sound, but this BD is somehow different…

ANYWAY, two questions hope to make through:

  1. how to survive, all skills, eqs and devotions direct to pets’ damage, how do you (or your friend) survive the Gladiator , alone???!!!:confused::confused:
  2. ANY buff or potion used in your solo? BARELY got the gladiator through with other three buds with full buffs and every potion we could find.

HE can solo the Gladiator in 1005,as you know the BOSS cant be taunted,Only he and GOD know how to do it! You can see the video,I think he just playing a GG. HE used Empyrion and Ulzuins buff.

Thank you for this, very detailed with good explanations of what each item does. I will use some of the ideas to improve my summoner, if I can ever find the gear.

Could I add a few points though.

  1. Empowered Grimoire of Og’NaPesh gives you a very powerful extra pet.
  2. Mark of Modragon on the boots is better than Mark of the Traveller.
  3. Put a point into Doom Bolt and bind it to Shepherd’s Call, it has a similar cooldown and 100% chance to activate.

1.The skeleton have no help to him.quality over quantity, when deal with human have no more room for too many pets. Live to have damage!
2.Run speed is key property.
3.Chance to activate isnt important,Shepherd's Call do not need Precise control.Bind it to common skills just enough.Y dont need to control more skill, when Doom Bolt hit nothing the activate will 100% fail.

thank you for responding

Pet granted by Empowered Grimoire of Og’NaPesh is not super powerful and relatively quite slow in motion. and for every monster in this game, there’s invisible space restriction around each one of them, too many pets don’t equal to better selection, for that space requirement will cause collision and confliction in fight.

Optional selection for components for this BD matters much more in moving speed rather than regeneration speed

Unlike nullification type of skills that requires sophisticated control and operation, Shepherd’s Call can be easily activated if binded to regular skills.

You guys are insane

Don’t know much about pet builds. I am guessing Voidmancer cord, Glyph, Ultos Spark and Iskandra have a lot to do with the success. CArzy amount of damage sources due to that relic.

That Taunt is very strong. And The Fabius video…he’s eaten alive in seconds  It’s actually 7 seconds not even 9. Insane damage

http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47262 this is something beyond insane

and hi long time no see .~~

Hey dude…got confused:confused: this is a Conjuere build and no Iskandra’s set was involved, perhaps you’d like to talk about beastcaller?:stuck_out_tongue:

Yes i saw that first time before posting here. Was just surpised to se Fabius go down so sooo fast. And I think that if there are no mobs around it can go down to 6 seconds.

I will admit I have never Tried a Mogdrogen fight as it usually requires specific preparation. 3:30 minutes is the fastest I’ve seen so far.

Fastest solo i had seen was a blademaster by a player named Ju neng hong ji and even that was in build 31 before nerfs to dethmarked weapons and Necrosis.

I there any gimmick in this? I posted on that other thread you opened where you say something should be nerfed? Is it the items or debuff stacking…or the crazy taunt?

LOL Ju neng hong ji IS also in our small group of community. But fairly saying if you comprehend the code of killing the avatar which is basically very high electrical resistance beyond limitation of 80, and good single-target and AOE damage, with proper resistance reduction, you’ll have a good chance to take him down.
back in b31, Ju neng was more leaning on figuring out bug mechanism to find a shortcut of dealing damage, such as granted skills without CD, or stacking up extra damage to certain race etc. But he is truly smart to find these pattern while others cannot.

there is no gimmick in this BD but just unbalanced design of pet equipment and skills.

EDIT 1:in our community a lot of people can slaughter the avatar, but this conjurer is so far the quickest. But we don’t normally use how fast to kill as a reference, because the build to kill the avatar is normally specific-modified rather than a regular build.

Cool. I think i’ll try Mogdrogen with a build I have. I’ll probably need consumables for it.

On a different topic. Thanks for taking the time to post/edit stuff from your community. It’s the same work 2x and posting builds take a bit of time. I know because i’ve been trying to, just haven’t had the time. Also i like that you have communities and show eachother stuff to make better builds. There is not much of that here save for the Modding community maybe. Hope you keep posting stuff like this.

As someone who has been playing a pet Conjurer since launch, this build has me really excited. Like most people i have used the Lazy Pokemon Master as my guide with terrific results. However, the Crucible at gladiator difficulty has had me thinking about the limitations of that path. I am looking forward to seeing this in action for myself. Thanks for the build!

 http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47262 here is how crazy this build can be
