[1.0.0.6] Markovian/Warborn Commando - Juggernaut - high physical dmg shield build + Crucible farmer

I’ve got a quick question on attribute point allocation. You recommended going with 10 points in spirit. None of the recommended gear requires those extra points in spirit, is this just for energy regen to help feed blitz?

Markovian distinction Amulet does require 8-10 points in spirit (313 spirit). It’s not for Blitz or energy regen.

Just wondering, not bothered reading through the dozens of pages but something just struck me…

Why not put 1 point into Markovian Advantage into this build? I mean you get + 4 from the Markovian set and another + 4 I believe with + soldier skills?

Level 9 Markovian advantage for 1 skill point invested doesn’t seem like a bad investment to me!

Does that mean I want to get to Deadly Momentum asap and thus skipping all other skills in between like Overguard, War Cry, Shield Training etc?

Early game maybe just 4-5 overguard will do for the absorb. Leave shield training for elite/late elite. Rushing bulwark is better for offense/defense

Could someone tell me what stats we are looking in this ring?..

Cronely’s. Mine is Purging of readiness to take care of poison and some nice DA and OA corpse dust-Frozen Heart or an Ectoplasm if mana issues/Survivor’s Ingenuity

I asked the same question before reading through all them pages, afaik it does not make or break the build. I experimented with them and compared their performances as far as I am able to with my little means, but in fact I found what zolhan’s technique and markovian advantage may add in power, is compensated by the fact that they seem to slow down your attack speed with their own animations, meaning less cadence procs in the same time as without relying on those skills.

I remember one of them was slowing me down far worse than the other, but I dropped them both as I don’t have the means to exactly calculate, if overall it really is a dps gain or not, but the disrupted flow in my attack speed made me judge against both and I decided to invest points elsewhere for now.
Feel free to try it out, it is not really a big investment as you can reset skill points easily at any time.
Maybe someone with more of a clue about game mechanics can figure out if they are in fact worth it or not?
Even if it only was a 1 point investment and it may look like a huge gain on paper, it really feels like you’re better off without 'em (which is a shame, as I really liked the idea of combining techniques in order to become an even greater warrior).

thanx for posting your build and all the time you spent answering questions.
I just got the game (lev34 now) and I love it ! Had a number of friends who said not to waite my money on the game because they tried the game and quit because of leveling failed builds . I spent time looking for a shield build and found yours.love it so far .
How difficult is to get the gear you are using on your char ? Is a matter of investing a lot of time into farming content and a lot of RNG gods ? I see people talking about an trade aspect to the game and I wonder what should i save in order to access that market and be able to get some pieces for the build.
thanx again

I won’t lie, it took a while to get the gear because i’m self found. But that was before crucible. If you can do challenger you will get them much faster.

For trading, haven’t done it. Just keep legendaries good green’s MI’s. Rare mats like brain matter, ancient hearts, blood of ch’ton. Some people will just give them to you:)

Edit: wrong topic sorry ><

Don’t see what your question is…Cronely’s is the easiest to grind for and it has attack speed too.

I have a question about OA in this build. What is the source of it? Gear mostly?

My character is level 85 and I have followed the skill point distribution and the devotion map exactly. But my OA is only 1795…

How can I increase this?

Thanks!

3x survivor’s ingenuity in jewlery. Markovian set has some flat OA and % OA. Cronley is Purging of Readiness and readiness has flat OA in it, Oleron relic has flat OA, Gloves have flat OA (except if you sue colossal grasp), Dreeg sect pants have %OA on them by default. That’s kind of it, can’t think of anything else right now.

Thank you very much! That is very helpful.

I don’t have most of the BiS gear for this build yet. I have the gloves (Unchained Might) and the boots though.

I can certainly get the components and the relic, though my energy regen will take a big hit…

Unfortunately, I’ve never had a single piece of the Markovian set to drop for me. Or the Warborn set.

I had posted this on another recent thread replying to you suggesting someone to play your build as it’d be fun and what they are looking for but figured I’d throw it here instead, was going to try to contact you through PMs about it as I’m unsure if anybody has ever bugged you about it but I couldn’t since I’m new. So my question is: Could it be possible to make a Leveling guide on where to put points every couple levels(20/40/60/85) something like that. Same with Devotions if possible, Short video of a quick explanation of how you go through your Devotions like I’ve seen other thread posters do would be freakin’ awesome. I’ve seen some videos out there that show builds and show the devotion tree and even just the class tree and they are like “Oh its self explanatory and I don’t need to explain it or go into detail on how it’s done” and for a new guy like me who is a perfectionist and doesn’t wanna mess up my build as it doesn’t really seem you can take away points in certain areas it would kind of suck to have to fully restart my character because of 1 or 2 points(Yes, I would do that. I’m that much of a perfectionist) and if there is a way to do such things like a full respec…Cool, I’d like to know how to do that. Long story short, I’m asking if you’d be willing to add in a quick leveling guide into your thread that may help other people like me who are starting up the game, looking for a cool build to play and don’t wanna stare at a skill tree wondering what to do first max your bottom thing to 50 then do skills? get a skill maxed every chunk then go to 50 etc. etc.

Well, I managed to get my OA up to 1978 from 1767 last night by messing around with my components/augments. I did a Cronley run before and after and could immediately tell a difference. Thanks again for the advice on that front.

Another question though - what weapon(s) would anyone recommend for this build if I don’t have the Warborn Gavel?

Right now I’m using a green mace of something or other with attack speed and a few other goodies. I have some blue and purple maces but nothing that is obviously better than the green one. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Green weapon can be BiS depending of which prefixe/suffixe you get on it.

I recommend to farm this one at bloodgrove’s secret shop:
http://gracefuldusk.appspot.com/items/5691-Bonescythe

This MI’s axe is better but drop only from one boss into Port Valbury:
http://gracefuldusk.appspot.com/items/9133-Aetherwarped-Cleaver

Those epic items can be considered if you dont have any good green:
http://gracefuldusk.appspot.com/items/8089-Empowered-Guardsman’s-Hammer
http://gracefuldusk.appspot.com/items/8084-Empowered-Touch-of-Malice
http://gracefuldusk.appspot.com/items/7667-War’s-Rebuke

Unfortunately, I’m at work and don’t remember my affix/suffix on my green mace. I’ll link it when I get home.

I actually have all three of the Epics you linked. I know my green is better than Emp. Touch of Malice and Emp. Guardsman’s but I’m not sure about War’s Rebuke. I’ll have to experiment with that one.

As far as the other two items you listed, aren’t they axes? The only reason I ask is because the devotion setup in this build uses the constellation that requires a mace…

Devo setup for axe:
https://grimcalc.com/build/9zUJ3kS

Devo setup for mace:
https://grimcalc.com/build/kLPdHsK

Dont mind skill build its outdated.
Edit: those devo setup are mostly for WB version. (falcon swoop wont be really useful on commando)

That’s interesting; I’ll keep that in mind.

My current green mace is a Relentless Imperial Warmace of the Sage.
