My faction choice was purely subjective. Both are doable if you balance them right. Death’s has spiritguard and spellward powder, both are good. Kymons has stuff like demonbane powder and kymon’s vision, also good. In general people will say Kymon’s. Whatever you fancy:)
Warborn will allways be harder than markovian to blance regardless of what you choose. Markovian can easily have 3x Survivor’s Ingenuity with good/decent Dreeg pants which is great.
@rob2010: Some of the nerfs to equippment and deadly momentum are partially compensated by the fact the cunning is stronger now and this build can withstand substantial cunning investment unlike Witch Blade. There is also the nerf to CoF. So, before patch 0.7 i said that this commando is a strong contender. Now I say they are on an equal footing. This is just my personal opinion.
Also, with regards to gameplay i find more simplicity in commando. You cast Warcry and smash faces…With witchblade you cast CoF and warcry. I have enough characters that need more than 10 buttons to work so I personally I love the fact that this one is simple to play and very powerful.
@Superfluff This is what i like about this build it’s very simple and powerful like you said. I just returned to the game this patch only to find out that all my backup saves were gone from my flashdrive. I had been trying many builds looking for something good that i could do to get all my gear and recipes back.
I was getting very frustrated with the builds i was trying and was about to give up when i found this build. It has been good from the start for me and is very fun. I thank you again for sharing this build.
Another quick question not really build related. For the black legion rep farming. Would it be better to kill Anasteria on vet/elite then side with her on ultimate?
Doing all black legion quests (including side quests) will cap their rep by the end of ultimate even if you side with Anasteria on all difficulties and always give the supplies to homestead. But if you want to farm BL rep right away then your way would be the fastest.
Fast attack speed is crucial for queen to lifesteal a lot, do you use the more offensive devotion setup i posted? That is the one you need not charriot. Use haunted steel ability when she bursts you hard. Replace hand armor with some that give attack speed. I used grasp of unchained might. Get your DA and OA from survivors ingenuity.
Not really, but thing that you need is to up your DA, MQ crits you way to much since they buffed its OA in recent patch, and boy when she crits it really hurts.
Tbh I didnt checked her magic DA number in 1.0.0.7, but magic DA number for Fabius is 2180 DA, he can crit you if you have that amount (I measured this with my BD), in earlier patches MQ was almost the same.
Depends on points invested in veterancy, base is 970, but I equipped Markovian on one of my builds with ~690, but it was really gimmicky.
Come on its not that hard, ppl will just need to invest some more in defenses, crucible was like that from start. Its not to hard to obtain that DA number i even managed to get it on 0 phys BM when on defensive setup.
Edit: Noticed typo in previous post: Fabius cant crit you if you have DA 2180 or higher (measured on my BM setup).
Great build! Levelling has been a blitz ;)! I have 2 questions though and was hoping you could advise.
In your build guide, you mentioned,
"Stats: Cunning-45\Phys-35\Spirit-10
There is great potential here to go for one of those full cunning builds. This started out as an experiment with veterancy and I beleive Markovian version especially can pull this off easily. Tankiness is still there, the combination of Blast Shield + Overguard (that is available 90% of time) is ridiculous. It lets us do things like rush Anasteria under heavy damage that other builds might not withstand."
Would you recommend trying for a full cunning build here or is it still too risky, with DA more important due to the OA nerf. I have put points in cunning up to now (level 32) but stopped. Wondering if the points in spirit and phys are really necessary.
Second question is going to be a leveling one (oh noes!)
Been loosely following your guide, now in the midst of maxing Bulwark. No points in Demo yet. At level 32 so far its:
In the final guide Bulwark only has 10 points but I suppose this is due to the additional +skills from items. Any recommendations on where to take the build after Bulwark is maxed? Perhaps getting warcry or some of the 1 pt passives or should I work on the demo tree next?
I wouldnt recommend full cunning on such heavy phys requirement armor.
Basically there are two reasons for that, first you wouldn’t get anything special by going that route, second it would be hard to fill stats requirements for gear.
I made markovian full cunning build, bm tho, you can check what sort of gimmicky stuff you will have to pool in order to equip armor and I was unable to equip markovian amulet. http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47783
But of course if its a challenge for you to do it, like it was for me go for it
Having full set helps because you get more Overguard.
In the Mad queen video i have 1963 DA as seen in the screenshot. You don’t really need the magic number, especially with markovian. the video is not cherrypicked:p
Edit: @ Sehn. No full cunning after 0.7:p i will rephrase that. Also the bulwark part is explained in the warborn part of the build. Markovian only needs 10 for 22/12
I’ve just finished elite, the build is awesome! This is first character when i didn’t bother to cap resistances or get lifesteal, because blast shield, menhir’s will and overguard make him almost unkillable.
Should i buy Elite Legion Warhammer? I see there was mentioned bonescythe a couple of times, but it is axe, and there is Rhowan’s Scepter in devotions, which requires mace.
I just finished veteran and i have 42 devotion points. I have used you new offensive setup. Should i take my points out of falcon now or wait till ultimate to do it?
