I may have accidently picked something wrong but it’s easy to correct (since the first post does not contain components or augments I’ve not picked any, but it’s possible to do that).
Just click the slot and change what’s wrong.
The list and url will update and you can click “Copy items for forum” (will also include url to the page) or just “Copy URL for forum” for just the url.
I’ve loved the dot builds, and have fallen in love with poison builds. Unfortunately GD haven’t had great animations for poisoned mods - or my settings is low so I couldn’t see what happen :D.
I have a question about vile eruption: the bonus damages in this skill will be add directly to DEE, or it just is applied for the fragments? If I throw DEE to a single enemy, so will both all the fragments damage it?
Not sure if Tomodak is still reading this thread,…
I’m wondering why devotions take hawk rather than scorpion (there’s a few scattered points in incomplete constellations that could be used to get the extra 2 points needed for scorpion).
The benefits seem much better overall - assuming that there’s somewhere to bind the extra skill that scorpion gives.
P.S. How did this build fare in the upcoming patch notes for 1.0.0.8?
Would be curious if its going to be any good in the next patch. was already working on a Witch Hunter; think im missing only one set piece; be curious if its worth finishing to use ( know the sets only getting a minor buff; resists are still bleh but fixable )
I also would find it useful for a little more guidance on the devotion choices. Mainly the order of devotion selection would help for us newbies. It is really confusing for beginners.
I just got level 85 using idea of this build.
My skill setup and devotions are similar but different. My gear still sux
I’m in Act3 Ultimate and killed Ultimate Undead/Aetherial Nemesis few times. My GRIMCALC W/O gear - Ghoul His GRIMCALC W/O gear - Wendigo
I’m using Ghoul over Wendigo because of my blue gear and low vitality damage.
Devotions are pretty simple:
Take Eldritch and Chaos affinity on Crossroads.
Rush Manticore (Complete Rat+Hawk+Viper) - go for Acid Spray only and assign it to Dreeg’s Evil Eye.
Get Behemoth - (Complete Lizard) - Assign it to Veil of Shadow or any other buff.
Finish Wendigo or Ghoul (I use Ghoul and consider to drop it to get Wendigo but I’m not sure. Wendigo will be nerfed in next patch and I still have bad gear. After all I was more happy to use Ghoul while levelling).
Complete Oklaine’s Lantern
Complete Spider
Now you can drop Eldritch and Chaos Crossroads via Spirit Guide and put 3 points to Ulzuin’s Tourch or do whatever you like. If you took Ghoul you only drop point from Eldritch.
Hmm, ghoul isn’t optimal. Vitality isn’t your primary damage source. Dreeg’s set’s proc gives you a nice vitality bonus and hence would do wonders for the ADCtH sustain you get using Wendigo.
If you don’t have Dreeg Set i still think continuous returns from ADCtH would be much better than Ghoul’s low health proc
As for ADCtH (I had to google it haha - Attack Damage Converted to Health) I use legendary amulet Thread of Mortality.
Ghoul have 100% chance to activate (assign to buff - Possession in my case) on 33%(45% next patch) health and I drop to 33% nearly every fight on Ultimate 60% ADCtH and 20% attack speed works great.
I’m going to drop Ghoul as soon I get better gear but this is my first character and it will take some time.
Nice way to adapt. I don’t think i’d have ever considered using Ghoul in ultimate. Btw, i’d like your thoughts. Do you notice any change in “staying power” when ghoul activates?
I just dropped Ghoul to check if I still can kill Valdaran (on Ultimate). Looks like Ghoul makes difference but not that much.
I was able to keep my HP above 40-50% (I use Fateweaver’s Leggings to stay alive). I died once while Valdaran crits me or whatever he done (I still learn).
Ah, I was using Wendigo, maybe low % and level1 issue? I will work on it and see how it goes.
When I was using Ghoul it was easier to stand in place and don’t die when Valdaran hits harder. Sometimes I had to kite for 1-2s to recovery HP and that’s all.
For my current build and gear:
Ghoul gives burst healing when I really need it to survive when Wendigo heals nearly all the time if proc (15%).
Probably Wendigo will be better if I level it up but for now I will keep Ghoul and work on better gear.
At close range Valdaran has a Lightning Sphere Shotgun
If you try to kite him then he hits you with RR bolt (flat 40 reduced resistance iirc) and then you can imagine what would happen if he shotguns you following a teleport
Imo, he’s the nicest character since he likes our character and feels sad whenever we try to run away so he keeps pulling us back to talk. But we keep bashing him with sword
Obviously, Loxmere is pretty nice as well since he nullifies you for free
Good guy aetherials
Yeah I died in similar scenario Thanks for info, next time I will try to hide near some handy wall (for some reason he ignores me then).
I just killed Moosilauke while using wall to not be freeze to death ^^ (no Ghoul). Again I missed Ghoul and burst healing when I really needed it.
I will level up Wendigo (still need to finish act3/4) as I feel that it will work better on higher level and better gear.
Just one question: I dropped Ghoul but I start to think about it now… Will Ghoul back to previous level if I select it or I will need to level it up again :D?
EDIT: Yeah it will stay on previous level yey
Im following this build and am level 81 atm, with some of the gear mentioned as BiS. Im nowhere near reaching the 230k(I’m doing 61k max) dot damage that was posted in the screenshot when this was initially posted.
Has this been nerfed since it was posted, or is it my OA that is too low(1493)?
my poison modifier is almost 1800.
There was no nerf since then (some will come with the 1.0.0.8 though) so it’s your crit chance/crit damage that is too low (your poison damage is more than sufficient )
1493 is very low at your level, you should target an amount of OA superior to 2500 to hope to reach those numbers (+150k dot) at a decent frequency
I have 3000 OA if I remember correctly, and the dots are usually >150k
Slightly surprised to hear that 1.0.0.8 brings nerfs. I read it and thought the build would improve, but it takes only one nerf to outweigh all the buffs in the world ofc!
Some things I still don’t get with this build (still at low level):
Why dual wield? Why not just use a poison/acid offhand or even a shield?
The dual wield and SS etc seem to turn this into a melee build and add new damage types (cold, pierce etc)… why not go for poison such as Bloody Pox to stay ranged… or full NJE but only 1 pt in SS?
I’m considering trying out a variant using Bloody Pox with DEE alongside, moving the SS points there. In which case, we don’t get much from Nightblade just PB and VoS.
I’m looking to understand this, not trying to sound as if I know what I’m talking about! Any input appreciated.
