[1.0.0.9] Tri-damage Witch Hunter - Dual wielding Nemesis Slayer (13 sec Fabius, etc.)

Ahh ok. I will look for gear to overcap my lightning res then. Thanks for the help.

Hey there. Just made an account to comment on this thread-this is the first build I’ve played entirely through normal, and its been a blast.

That being said, any tips on where/how to farm once you’re getting midway through elite? I’m at 67 and still without BoC or any spellblade recipe past Adept’s, and while I’m progressing through Elite well, I can’t help but assume I’ll hit a wall at the beginning of Ultimate, if not sooner.

Besides just tips, one specific question-I’m still running Mistborn, and don’t have any ABB for that reason. Should I get a stronger relic and spec back in to ABB until I get BoC, or is it probably fine to stick with Mistborn until I find BoC?

Hey, glad to hear that.

With BoC you mean Fang of Ch’thon or Shard of Beronath?

Master’s Spellblade will drop sooner or later.
You could try to run the Hidden Vendor at Bloodgrove for weapon Blueprints. It’s really boring and annoying but he has a chance to sell item Blueprints. The other option are Treasure Troves and Nemesis Chests ofc.

I’d try to swap to Solael’s Decimation as soon as you hit 70. If you don’t have that Relic, it’d be nice to know what high level Relics you’ve got atm.

There are a lot of players out there, who haven’t found their Shard of Beronath Blueprint up until lvl 85 in Ultimate.
You could also use the Oleron’s Blood Component’s skill to replace your auto attacks with. Works fairly well. This way, you also could replace Mistborn. ABB+LA is okay too, but better suited for Acid WHs (not Poison).

SoB, not Fang. Got my acronyms confused there for a minute, obviously.

My high level relics atm are Avenger, Plunderer, and Ulzuin; the only one I have all the component recipes to craft is Plunderer. I’ll try doing some merch runs for a bit and then maybe push up to BoC (right acronym this time! The end-game dungeon) to do treasure vault runs there for a bit; getting tired of undead runs and my Moosiluake run wasn’t going to swell with current values anyway.

And I’ll try out the Oleron’s skill, too, esp. as I’m getting closer to 70.

Okay, np.

Those Relics won’t help too much with this build. So you could try staying with Mistborn or change to Slaughter or Haunt, if you got one of these two.

Otherwise I’d say, hit Ultimate and farm there. The dropchances there are significantly higher, which includes Blueprints ofc.

First characters always need a while to come online, they are naturally the hardest to level and gear up for. So, enjoy yourself and have fun.

Try to max out your Elemental and Poison & Acid Resistances before hitting Ultimate. Every other Resistance should be at least around 50% there, Aether may sit at 35% for a while though. >190 %AS and about 2700 OA (buffed) would be nice too, together with base Chaos Damage dealing weapons.

Maybe I’m being crazy but how come the skill points are different for each level? I don’t mean like some are increased but that there are different ones all together (ie 50 and 65).

Because you want to skill out of ABB+LA as soon as you can craft Shard Of Beronath at level 55.

The level 65 version takes that into account and is closing the gap to my final version at lvl 85. As formulated, the lvl 65 grimcalc is just as an example of how the build can look.
If you don’t have SoB, you might want to stick to ABB+LA. You also could equip Oleron’s Blood and skill out of ABB+LA.
You also don’t need Whirling Death in Elite anymore, as it will lower your overall DPS.

Hey Jägermeister, it’s me again

Just wanted to thank you again, your build is so far really great and fun!
I can’t play much, so i’m still at Lvl 36 on Normal, but it’s so easy, i can slay monsters and even bosses up to Lvl 40/41 without much effort
And there’s so many explosions and effects and colors just by pressing LMB

Also, maybe it’s because it’s my first playthrough, but the world is friggin huge.
Yesterday i got to Homestead and got the quests there.
Today i wanted to do these quests, but instead saw that there’s still a bit of fog of war south, so i went there…and now i’m fighting my way through Pine Barrens, Shaded Basin and Tyrants Hold

Really great this game so far!
Have a nice evening everyone

Alright, I understand. Just to make sure I’m not misinterpreting, when I go from 65 to 85, I should reset the skills for the character and change from this to this?

Oh yeah, so true.
Had my fair share of omg so good and holy shit moments on my first playthrough too. The game is great!

Good to hear you are still rolling fine with my build. Feel free to share your thoughts and ask your questions as they come.

@Vultux: Yes, exactly. Always remember, this is just a guide. If you want to experiment or if you think, something else works better in your opinion, feel free to change the setup to your liking.

Thanks, so far everything is, with your tips, pretty straight forward.
I think more questions will arise when i’m nearing the endgame and when i get to the details of items/stats/etc.

But one question comes to mind right now:
When is a good point to start to farm for better gear?
I saw Krieg and Cronley runs are pretty popular, did a few, but i guess on Normal it’s not worth it?

You can farm Normal Cronley for one or two of his Signets, but I wouldn’t invest more than 5-6 runs on that.

Drop chances are progressing with difficulty. So the best time to farm for gear is in Ultimate.
But you always should look out for gear, especially in Elite, when you start to struggle a bit. But usually farming isn’t necessary anyways until the end of Elite.

In Elite you can farm Viloth and Cronley for a while, but as I said, don’t invest too much time into that.

Alright, thanks

Just as i thought, thanks

Back again with another question-

Still no Shard, but I do have my Master’s recipe now. I’m level 80, and about midway through ultimate. If I’m looking to shore up my resistances a bit, is there any reason to delay doing Cronley runs for rings until I’ve gotten to a higher level? My current rings aren’t bad per se, but they’re among the most obvious upgrades at this point, esp. with a good way to farm them.

Nice, a well rolled Master’s Spellblade will definately boost your DPS.

You can start running Cronley, even though I usually start farming at lvl 85. The farming route I mainly use is Fabius (including Cronley) or just Cronley into Kilrian or BoC Treasure Trove. Sometimes I also clear the roguelike dungeons.

Not quite far enough through for BoC yet, obviously. And I don’t have access to Fabius quite yet-though of course, that’s another problem that’ll be solved with enough Cronley runs.

Unfortunately, rolling better spellblades than the ones I currently have (which are fair, but not great) isn’t an option right this instant, either-too high level for Elite BoC, haven’t reached Blood Grove yet. So it might be more worthwhile to push to that, first. Or just to start up another toon and let this one sit for a while, farming at BoC on norm for the roiling bloods.

I see.
Yeah, starting another toon often helps older characters a lot and you don’t get fed up on a single one. The first character always suffers the most regarding missing materials, components and items. I had to grind a lot with my first char to make up for this.
Ultimate Cronley Runs combined with Devil’s Crossing Cronley related kill Bounties also help grinding Nemesis status.

What is the reason for not taking Whirling Death?

The low % Weapon Damage it inflicts results in an overall DPS loss.

You only want WD with a Bleeding Build or with maxed out NHH in an Acid Build (even though I still don’t skill into it with my Acid Build).
