after the Aether melee DK thread the other day I came up with another alternate aether melee battlemage build, if anyone is interested. I actually think the pure physical alternate versions of this I made with different class combos are better from an overall standpoint, but this one has a bit more style and it’s still based on the same basic concept:
KRIEG!!! AKA: My Name has become a killing word. AKA: Cry havoc and cry havoc some more.
Hey, you have an interesting version. It seems that you have about 2/3 aether and 1/3 physical damge that allow you to test some other gear i think. I have about 90% of aether damage at the moment. With devotion are you sure that staf of Rattosh is the best choice?
One thing is sure for now krieg’s is a good set that allow many combination and thanks crate for this (except the move speed that you forgot on boots!).
Thanks for your 3 link it will give idea for other player who don’t have battle mage:)
Hi, im still quite new to Grim Dawn and I was wondering whats the reasoning behind your attribute points distributtion. In linked grimtools profile I can’t figure out if you allocate just for gear requirements or for some other reason?
Anyway thanks for cool build, cant wait to try it out
Hey i didn’t restart my point yet but i’ll think about it cause i took an old character with another build. But yeah you put the point you need for gear and then you add physique if you want more life or spirit if you want more damage (i think it’s better than cunning but maybe depends of the build/gear).
I am hoping to try this once I put all of the pieces together. Thanks for this!
Does anyone have thoughts on Forcewave with the Edge of Sanity? I don’t see much else in support of that to make it work, but thought I might be missing something.
Does anyone have thoughts on Forcewave with the Edge of Sanity?
Hey i began my build with this weapons but forcewave has a too long cool down to be use as main atack but to quick to enter a cycle with war cry and kriegs wrath. And damage were lower like i tried.
Maybe my build wasn’t adapted for this weapon i don’t know, but i regret we can’t lower cool down by 100% with 1 handed weapons. And by the way i don’t realy like forcewave…
But if someone play with it i’m realy curious to see it.
hey are you using the same Devotion as in your grim calc for crucible?
i ask because i think i cant handle Gladiator with my own Setup
for rings/amu/medal i use other than you also i use agrivix-relic+phantom girdle(+1arcanist) but that cant be bad
Hey, yes i used same devotion for crucible but i changed a little soldier/arcanist. I added some point to mirror of ereocted and overgard. But like i sayed for the wave 150 i had chance with easy nemesis. Don’t forget to use nulification it help a lot, and take some blessing/potion…With cool down reduction on gear + blessing you have constantly strong skill to survive.
Edit:
for movement its annoying like a turtle >.< (boots need movespeed!)
If you have the resources to create another one, put Seal of Corruption on Mindwarp and Wrathstone on shield. For two reasons: component flat damage applies only to single hand (shield or sword) and wrathstone has less damage without aura (and aura definitely applies to your mainhand and possibly offhand regardless of where you put it). A bit more damage that way.
Also, did challenger without buffs (with beacons though, but I didn’t really pay attention to them) on my offensive (devotion-wise) setup. Will try Gladiator after leveling devotions.
I’d rather got Necromancer instead of Arcanist. Necromancer has Aether resistance reduction, good flat aether damage boost and good amount of ADCTH from buff.
I tried with the Necro yesterday and overall it seems better, damage wise is more or less similar, but having many skill to sustain you and 3k more health helps survivability wise in though fight.
Here is my version of it so far, fixed the running speed problems with proper devotions + 8% from the OP Mogdrogen relic making it 133% run speed with Hungering Void proc.
Still experimenting with talents though, but so far it looks super solid in every aspect.
I’m pretty new to the game, I just hit 42 on my first character so I’m still learning, so I’m not asking to learn more, but why did you go for the Fiend constellation? Aside from 10 Spirit and 8 Chaos res, it doesn’t seem to benefit the build at all.
Is Flame Torrent really that good?
If you took the 5 points out of Fiend, 3 points from Hawk (-3% and -15 OA), and the Yellow Crossroads (+5% Health), you could then put 4 into Toad (+24% Aether + Vitality (boots Siphon Souls) Damage, +60 Health, +3% Leech, and +10 OA) and 3 to finish off Behemoth (10% + 15 Health Regen, +4% Health) to cover the Green prerequisites, and grab the 2 right points of Wraith (15% + 24% Aether (and Lightning) damage.
It seems like this would be a lot more damage overall, but I’m not even close to being able to test for myself.
