Nice build. This is going to be my next character!
I’m currrently leveling a character for and with this build and I’m loving it so far. Perfect “Turret gunner”.
I’m now lvl 65 cruising through Elite. Here’s a short review of my leveling experience so far :
- Firsts steps : Crucible to get 5-8 devotion points and some gear (i did this with 2H Forcewave)
- I switched immediatly to gun Cadence after crucible (so at lvl 14). It felt slow. Didn’t get better till lvl 26 where I could complete a Marauder set. Breaking point is thus : get good guns and enough points in Cadence before making the switch (as advised by JoV earlier in the thread)
- I tried to get as much attack speed as soon as possible to make the build “fluid”
- Regarding defenses : I had no issues until Malmouth. There I began to die frequently and couldn’t figure out why. I was in Veteran with 40% resist all minimum + decent HP and armor + Inquisitor’s seal + double heal from Word of renewal and Chariot of Dead devotion. Problem was : i didn’t have enough Life steal. I only had the 3% from the Toad devotion. I topped up with 3 points in Ghoul devotions…problem solved (as advised by JoV earlier in the thread…again)!
I got lucky with drops (i got a Havoc!) and here’s what my char looks like now : grimtools.com/calc/JVlMM5xZ
Elite is of course a breeze so far with what I have
Two things I’m trying now and quite happy with the results :
- Blind Fury attached to Inquisitor’s seal : decent procs + can procs independently from each seal + turns your seal into a semi-offense CD
- Didn’t specced into Hydra but Huntress instead : OA is ± the same , lose a bit %damage all but get Rend
Thx JoV for the build!
Slowly progressing with this build.
Reached lvl 40 where I could use some previous gathered gear, although perdition set is not needed, it does give alot of defense.
Looking for constructive criticism towards helping me move Forward with this build.

As a side not, I am playing on Veteran - any reason for me to stay on Veteran or is it a waste of time, and I should play on normal ?
Once again thank you for help, trying to learn from all the suggestions, so that I can start making better and better choices myself
Regards

Hi JoV,
Quick question:
Juggernaut or Vendetta?
Now i have Guile, for extra damage
Thx.
If you are going like a train and you like it than you are doing it more than correctly
About respecing time its hard to tell exact when you should do it because you stated you dont have any gear. Imho, tho this is only assumption, you should respec when you get two decent guns and few pieces of decent armor. For instance, regular legendary havoc, or outlaw retribution (I think you wanted to say outlaws not devils retribution :)) would be more than fine, you could even do it with lesser guns also.
Check Lawlyer post, few posts below yours or in this quote, he did nice job adapting
Im thinking to do something like this with shield/pistol combo tho didnt had time to do it yet, I love that approach and even have old outbreaker setup for commando
Ty, you are doing marvelous job keep doing it
Only small side note, remove points for menhirs will its not doing you any good while you are dual wielding
Skill point and devotion points vise your build looks solid for now, much better than previous time.
But equipment vise you should be more offensive. While Perdition set is giving you nice defense its also hampering you offensive vise. Try to include more gear pieces with flat physical/pierce dmg, +% to physical, atc speed. Goliath signet and Jugernaut relic you are using are more than a good examples what kind of gear you should look for.
Tbh I never tried vendeta so maybe I wont be objective but imho Juggernaut is better option if for noting else than because you will need it to craft higher lvl relics.
Just curious how well rend is working in a non-bleed build? Doesn’t seem like the bleed damage would be that significant compared to the +% all damage and the flat elemental and pierce damage from Hydra. Or are you taking it more as defensive boost for the -OA?
I see you have it on storm spread. Do you see rend trigger that much on storm spread? Does each projectile have a chance to trigger it?
I cant comment first part of your question, but for second part answer is yes. Like every other shotgun skill/ability every projectile on storm spread has independent chance of procing rend.
Thx and indeed I forgot to remove the point. I put it there in my “pre-leveling” in Crucible as 2H forcewave and never touched it again until now
I tried Vendetta because I was curious to see the proc. It’s OK and proc often but nothing stellar. It’s also a proc that goes in a straight line…which is not what we lack in a Cadence DW build
I switched to Juggernaut now.
For now it’s a test in my leveling process. And I see indeed two benefits :
- defensive boost against bosses to help in case my DA is not high enough (though DA seems to be naturally OK with the build)
- wide AoE damage : with Storm spread it procs very often and on a very wide area (pushed it to 7 points for a 4th projectile) : every projectile might proc and each proc is AoE. For the future, I checked and War Cry has a 100% proc rate on Rend. With the reduced CD to War Cry from Warborn Visor, Rend would then have a 100% uptime
For the damage, I don’t really know. I just checked and saw over 700% bleed dmg in the final build. And I sit now on +500% bleed dmg. So I guessed it could be a not so terrible idea (for leveling at least). I can only say for now that big packs are a non issue
Edit : just checked, as far as I can tell, the DoT from Rend seems to be of same strenght as the DoT from Blind Fury at my lvl of gear.
My char now (lvl76) : grimtools.com/calc/M2gWeRg2
I face tanked Loghorrean and end boss from BoC (Elite). Now @ end Act 5 Elite. Still gunning down everything in my path
Hmm just noticed that grasp of unchained might has its skill removed from the mythical version… since we don’t use any of the skills being modified in the mythical version, would the original be better?
Main reason I took mythical version was higher flat dmg and % dmg bonus. You could do with legendary also, but you dont have to much need for that proc since OA and atc speed are so high that addition of that proc doesn’t mean much.
I see, thanks! I am a sucker for extra proc from items  so when the mythical versions have these proc removed, I feel a bit disappointed
hey,
what can i use when dont have such boots/legs/medal?
is there any other Option?
thx in advance
There are many options, somewhere in this tread I think I mentioned some.
Basically, boots, legs, medal use to cap resistances so depending what you have figure out some combination that will get your resistances caped. Ofc, if you can squeeze some other bonuses on them like OA/DA, atc speed, dmg, HP, etc its even better.
This build looks great, but its kinda hard to believe that it can solo Glad 150 with these stats.
Why? I mean I did it till now about ~20 times and Im yet to see one fail, but I would like to know why do you think so?
Wait, so does Blind Fury proc goes off centered on your character or bursting round’s location?
I was planning almost the same build, but was going to consider focusing more oh Physical damage and get Menhir’s Bulwark instead of Aura of Conviction. I’m not sure if it’s a bad idea or not, but I thought it was worth a try.
Why would you think that? I’ve tested this build many times through crucible, it does crucible extremely easily. The only downside is that dps is not the greatest, it’s like a slightly slower but safer blademaster.
Off character like in every other case.
You cant use menhirs bulvark if you dont have shield.
Exactly. Also if you are more into gambling with crucible you can enhance dmg a bit by investing more to cunning and slightly changing devotions by taking stag for extra flat dmg.
Nice to hear it. When i said “its hard to believe” i didnt mean that its a fake build.
I was lvling a Forcewave Tactician, and now i’ll respec it to this build.
Thanks!
