Introduction

Gunslingers are known to be squishy from the beginning of time (̶J̶o̶V̶’̶s̶ ̶C̶a̶d̶e̶n̶c̶e̶ ̶T̶a̶c̶t̶i̶c̶i̶a̶n̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶a̶ ̶S̶o̶l̶d̶i̶e̶r̶ ̶W̶a̶r̶b̶o̶r̶n̶ ̶s̶o̶ ̶i̶t̶ ̶d̶o̶e̶s̶n̶’̶t̶ ̶c̶o̶u̶n̶t̶)̶. G&B builds are even more trashy until very recently when they decided to buff Aegis set, So I tried to make one out of it and it worked lmao.

Pros:

  • Can clear Gladiator
  • Can kill Lokarr and pretty much clear all game content.
  • That’s it, there’s nothing fun about it otherwise, if you’re looking for something fun to play just go DW or something.

Cons:

  • Looks dumb, seriously shield with a gun? Who though that was a good idea?
  • Clear speed is far from impressive, you lose like 40% of your dps when ditching the second gun.
  • Mad Queen is a major pain in the ass due to Aegis’ shotgun. I don’t mind her damage but this particular mechanics is probably too unforgiving for shotgun builds. Just stay out of her way when she’s on her periods. Women.

For Crucible I went all-out defence devotion-wise. For main game you can just forget all of Menhir’s bullshit and go with our Lord and Savior Ulzuin.
I also chose Aura of Conviction instead of Censure for same reason. If you want to do Lokarr all day then Censure is a better choice.
Boots and rings are free slots since we already had enough overcapped resistances for another build. If you’re careful you may switch for Golemborn if two wild Iron Maiden’s appear, or Runeguard for Anasteria.

Alternative Setup
I just realized that Justicar set works will shield too, so yeah, another option for G&B, woo.

Since It’s a heavy armor set we can go with a more offensive minded devotion route. Overally I think the damage increased by about 20% while tankiness is pretty much the same. 3 Valdaran’s is no problem with a standarnd triple buffs setup (MoD didn’t proc).

Devotion choices
This setup uses a more or less offensive minded devotion route, beside the obvious ones here are some that worth mentioning:
Ghoul: Althouh this is technically a ranged, our playstyle requires standing in the seal and facetaking the shit out of everything - which means it’s no different from a a regular melee guy. Therefore we would need Ghoul as a soft circuit breaker.
Bard’s Harp: For energy stability, also the proc is good for CC resistance. As mammothhunter pointed out 1 point in Revenant could do quite fine so this one is not mandatory.

Playing tips
Stay as close as possible to your enemies, this is very important since this build’s shotgun potential is quite high thank to Aegis’s proc. You are not squishy, remember that, don’t think too much about kiting.

Thanks. Honestly it’s not the most fun build to play though, it’s like cadence/blitz S&B but with gun and thus no Blitz. The shield itself is awesome, more non-soldier viable shield builds would be nice.

Whoa. Looks interesting, definetely should try that. Still I feel bad for DW setups - double-gunner is so badass and classy, but seems not viable for endgame content.

I love Ulzuin set, I wasn’t talking about it though. I meant Gun+Shield, in base game that combination gave me cancer

Well one or two build combos don’t necessarily redeem a skill. idk why it has only~ 20% skill desruption.

Break morale has 100% and it doesn’t even work on all enemies. Harbingers for example can still curse you. On;y by stunning them or straight up killing them too fast can you avoid being cursed.

Possession has disruption protection and that is sweet. Anywho sorry for off topic and nice job on the build. I’d do 10/10 ranged expertise. Last skill point scales really nice and round

i had something similar in mind when i realized Aegis set could go with ulzuin just not using the rifle. But was thinking more to a commando for all that shield support…

It’s 10/10 ingame, I played with grimtool a bit before posting, think I just forgot to change it back. I would love to see a DW purifier that is not squishy as hell too, is your build based on Dagallon set?

Commando works well, in fact I tried this exact setup on my commando first before switching to Purifier since there are too many viable commando builds already. Non-soldier builds have to resort to Stoneform as poorman’s Overguard.

Ah no it’s a 2h rifle tank that also boasts the dmg output. Dagallon would require some more tweaks becacuse it;s squishy as you said.

Also fire build is hard enough on my shit PC but Dagallon +wps and 100% pierce through mobs is pretty hard to play lag wise. But it’s doable
