[1.0.4.1] DW Pistol Purifier (lokarr 21sec)

awesome build. I am loving it so far. clears so fast. What guns do you recommend for leveling or until I get the legendaries? I have one arcanum legendary, not mythical, but what should I use while leveling up? Any what kind of leveling gear shall I purchase and what components while leveling? and what about faction preference?

Blimey, this is much better than my first purifier attempt. I went wrong in choosing too many fire devos too early. When I hit LOG first time with this build, he just melted. I just sat there thinking, wtf just happened ?..

Any input on my current setup would be appreciated

Just a question about mechanics:

Why choose a %-RR and not a flat one?
Or more specific: why pick thermite mines and not BWC?

And just to say: great guide and great build

-% RR stacks with all sources of RR while only the highest applies for the flat one. So thermites are irreplaceable while you can get elemental storm as a substitute for agonizing flames.

Just wanted to say thanks for the build idea, had something like dual pistols in mind with my purifier when i started him back then but failed to level properly. Once i changed it to dual pistols it became a breeze through ultimate.
Works pretty damn well even if my gear is far from optimal, with lots of random item right now

I may have missed it or something, but where do should I put my attributes in?

Dump it all in physique. (Five points in spirit and/or cunning won´t hurt the build though.)

You can mouseover the attributes shown in the grimtools link.

There’s something that bugs me in the video. Lokarr doesn’t hurt you at all, he deals like 500 damage per hit and you heal that back. You have 2450 DA (in grimtools) and he doesn’t crit you even though he reduces your DA by an additional ~300. You have almost 2600 armor and 3% physical resist, while my DK has 20k HP, 2.9k DA, 25% physical resist and 3.3k armor and he can shred me easily.

I actually think the character on the Lokarr video is cheated. Inquisitor Seal doesn’t shield for 2k damage, and you only reduce his damage by 21%. Moreover, he had a green weapon, while when I fought him he had only a white one, one of these that doesn’t drop.

Really, you´re calling AKDONG a cheater? That´s just plain rude.

Just because you maybe don´t quite understand the mechanics at work, doesn´t mean that he cheated. Here´s another Lokarr kill with that build, my char this time. Can you tell me if I cheated also?

Then I clearly need an explanation to how do you don’t get damaged at all. I’ll take back what I said if someone explains to me wtf.

Actually it does.
16/12 Seal is 280 flat reduction, which goes after all reductions.
So it’s 280/0.79/0.20=1772 reduction per element, 280/0.79/0.97+2500=2800 phys damage reduction and 280/0.79/0.97=365 Internal Trauma reduction.
Blast Shield is 450 flat, which is 2848 per element, 3087 phys and 587 IT reductions.
So standing on the seal while BS is up is 4620 element, 3228 phys and 952 IT reductions.
These reduction apply per instance and, in case of DoTs, per stack, so that’s a lot of reduction. It’s one of the reasons this build can reliably facetank gargabol, especially his volcano fissure, with relatively shit gear.
Take note that Inquisitor Seal and Blast Shield reductions are mechanically different from Turtle Shell and Arcane Barrier devotion procs, even though it’s not obvious from description. Those do expire after taking listed damage and go on cooldown.

I am with you on this one, the first video (19 seconds kill) doesnt make sense. I am running the exact same build with same items. Its incredibly strong, make no mistake, I can easily farm Lokkar, Grava and other nemesis, but the Lokkar fight doesnt look like this. 19 seconds kill seems about right, but he still damages you quite a lot and you leech everything back, so your hp jumps a lot during the fight. AKDONG takes basically no damage at all, at no point his HP bar drops below 90% while he is just standing still and facetanking him (and doesnt even use flashbang/searing light.

Actually the 2nd video (21 seconds kill) is exactly how the fight should look like. He takes huge chunks od damage going below 40% hp and leeching it back in half a second.

Something just doesnt seem right here.

Except that in the first video he never goes below 90% HP orso, so blast shield doesnt even proc during that fight.

I don’t get where did you get these random numbers from. 280 and .79 is understandable, then random 2500, .97, .2 (I could assume the 0.2 is fire and lightning resistance maybe?). You basically didn’t answer anything with that because you didn’t specify where did you get these numbers from.

The first video was specifically picked with the fastest kill time, and having Lokarr spawning with additional phys and randomly chunking by crit would detract from that.
Also the second video didn’t proc Blast Shield either. Nor I would say losing no more than 20% hp is drastically different from 10%.

I assumed, by your post count, that you know how damage reduction in the game works.
2500 is average armor, 0.97 is 3% phys res, 0.2 is a resistance multiplier with res capped at 80%.

Grave mistake.

Personally, I assume that most players just use skills that “kinda work”, and don´t actually “do the math” or theorycraft. I assume all this, because I have no brain for math.

Uhm, what? In the second video he drops to about 50% hp at around 8 seconds mark and blast shield gets popped immediately and then he gets dropped to around 10-20 % hp at around 18 seconds mark. Are we even talking about the same video?

In the first video (19 seconds kill) he never even drops bellow 80-90 %, which is not feasible considering we talking about the same build.

Lul at saying some cheat or something. As if there is anything to gain out of not losing HP.

The only time you dip against lokarr is if he stuns you, otherwise u just sit at full hp. Inq seal+3k ar and 83% fire res do some good work.

Inq seal is broken u can just sit still and tank most Glad 170 extra spawn waves. I guess it’s c- because back then crucible was worse for ranged? Def c+ now u can do 3x 170 on 4 blessing.

I was talking about this video:

As you can see it uses the gear as per build guide, unlike the video you are basing off your assumptions, and is the most recent and quite random Lokarr kill.

Hey there,

nice build, i appreciate Gaze of Empyrion as a helmet variant, because it delivers so much good stuff to vindicitive flame and Aura of Censure and adds elemental damage! Although im missing some health pool and res then. Well and mythical boneweave girdle gives cool LL.
