[1.0.7.1] Sting Like a ROCK - S&B Octavius RoK+FW Tactician, Gladiator farmer (9 minutes)

When you look at his items you’ll see most of them have something like +3 to Rune of Kalastor. This allows your skill to go past the normal limit (we call this softcap) and be leveled as much as 10 points above softcap (we call this hardcap). Making builds in this game usually revolves around hardcaps and main skills are often leveled as much as you can past the cap. This is a legit build, no doubt about it.

Truelly one of the strongest and possibly the safest build in the entire game. You can face tank the whole content without your hp ever reducing to half. This includes Ravager.

Well, I just found out my favourite non-pet build

Wow, did you try killing Ravager with this build? I haven’t try it yet.

Oh, thanks :3

Played the Octavius build before, you can easily tinker and push to 4k DA with specific items and just wait Ravager drop dead after 10 minutes forcewaving. Between incredibly high DA, damage absorb, block, physical resist and insane armor you can easily survive hits. I think seal of blades provide the sustain you need too.

You can even see in his crucible video surrounded by screen full of elites and nemesis and his hp never drops to half. Worse comes to worse you can just kite with forcewave not that you ever need to.

Hm, can you post a GT link to the exact build you used for Ravager?

I tried facetanking him, but found it impossible to survive once he goes into enrage mode. Kiting might work but will take too long.

First time playing Octavius build, very powerful build, trauma dot is insane.

Also, I’m using this to farm Sharzul, and the 2 sanctified bones+Inquisitor “Steel Resolve” modifier + Imbued Silver I put on shield give 59% total damage to Cthonics, makes very effective to farm easy face taking him, until he spawned with a reflect weapon.

I would post the video but I cant, its my first post is not allowed.

Glad to hear that
Have fun!

I reconfigured my Tactician to this and it has been a blast. But I have some questions.

  1. Why sanctified bone over sacred plating? Is it for the racial bonus?
  2. How does ignition work precisely? does it affect each individual fragment and does its damage also get converted into physical?
  3. Would it be worthwhile to put a point into markovian’s advantage for the -da?
  4. Is there a cap on OA/DA or a maximum after which it stops being effective or efficient?
  1. Two sanctified bones is often a norm like two runebound topazes but it’s crucible oriented. Racial damage, yeah, but those resistances are also good.
  2. With 100% Fire to physical to Kalastor on octavius completion all fire on ignition becomes physical and all burn becomes internal trauma. Each fragment deals phys separately but IT is DoT so it doesn’t stack from the same source.
  3. No, because Blindside has the same debuff and it’s a “reduced” debuff so it doesn’t stack
  4. Good question. Afaik effectiveness of oa becomes diminished after 3500-3700. And da after 3400-3500. I won’t bet my life on it though. Usually when you reach 3000 (3200 if you wanna be super tanky) on da and 3200 on oa it’s better to invest elsewhere. Also, if you just wanna farm crucible with a banner then oa becomes mostly obsolete.

I lost my save while ago  but it use to be you use defensive devotions and menhir’s bulwark. But that was in 1.0.3.0, i dont know if patch nerfed this since they run Oleron’s wrath now. You also need Markvian’s defense modifier so that buff is constantly up. The build i had before didnt have the rune of kalastor but inquisitor seal instead. That might help also.

I see, sorry to hear about your saves. But ty for giving the general direction :D.

Slap a citidal relic on there if you still unsure of dying.

Trading Light of Empyrian for Bull Rush & Oleron?
You’d have to make up the Slow Resistance (from Sailor’s Guide) somehow.

Would this build do fine in crucible, or is some adjustment needed?

You should probably read at least the title.

So sorry, I meant shattered realms, not crucible!

Will you be updating this for upcoming patch? I suspect with the nerf to aegis, people who have the octavius set might just flock to this build

Hi!
I can’t guarantee the new updated thread, but I prepared a GT link:

Tested it in SR and took 80, but had no time to test it in Crucible or higher shards. Maybe this week

Why do you use Seal of Blades on the main hand? Doesn’t FW use off-hand dmg? Or is sustain better from procs (hammers, bull rush, etc.) and sporadic autoattack?

On one of the warlord Octaviuses, I used SoB on off-hand, always. But I also had Aegis with off-hand dmg so the choice was obvious.
