Build Feature

Upside:

• The coolest looking set in the game!
• Mobility-skill based build, consistent clearer.

Downside:

• Require hundreds and hundreds of run on the new rogue dungeon

Build Overview

Morgoneth set, modeled as infiltrator. Towering high OA, Skyreaching high Crit damage, synergize well with shadow strike built-in crit damage. For all OA whore out there.

Itemization is quite obvious except rings and maybe medals. The new morgoneth’s ring and anubar ring are used for its good proc. Tested alkamos purple rings also, performance is similar but less consistent due to weaker procs. Mark of shadow queen is used for super OA. Thanks to @mad_lee who suggest seal of the night, reminding me to make omega OA version of this build.

Equipment Choices

Craft for +%physique. Get as max lightning>cold conversion as possible, get maximum CDR on Soulrend.

Core Items:
Armor of the Eternal Set.
Main / Off Hand: Soulrend. [High CDR, staple for CD based weapon nuke]
Amulet: Mythical Night’s Embrace. [MOAR SS crit damage, MOAR OA, MOAR RR]
Belt: Gargoyle Waistguard. [Converting vitality part of SS and nightfall to Cold. Tempest prefix is BiS for MOAR OA. Use whatever you like though.]

Supporting Items:
Ring 1: Prime Ring of Morgoneth. [Relevant skill bonus, good proc, good stats, love it]
Ring 2: Ring of Anubar. [Good proc, good stats, love it]
Pants: Mythical Slithscale Legwraps. [Relevant skill bonus, good stats, racial damage to KUBAAA]
Boots: Mythical Venomspine Greaves. [Relevant skill bonus, decent stats, good res]
Medal: Mark of the Shadow Queen. [Omega OA, nice Res, nice flat energy regen]
Relic: Nidalla’s Outbreak. [Current best Nightblade relic, Get completion bonus for lethal assault + nightfall / shadow step]
Movement Rune: Rune of Amatok’s Breath.

Standard procedure:

• Always have Word of renewal and Pneumatic Burst active
• Shadow Strike / movement rune in
• Then always hold LMB while:
  • Summon inquisitor seal below you (or not, just to trigger ultos)
  • Cast ABB to trigger lethal assault
  • Cast ring of steel

Stay in inquisitor seal only if facetanking multiple nemeses or bosses. In other cases, you want to move around sweeping and cleaning with shadow strike.

Build Performance

Crucible: For 170 Crucible, video with 4 buff + 3 L1 Storm Beacon:

5:15 clear time.
This is current fastest. Usual clear time is 5:30 and super consistent because shadow strike just chase the enemy to the end of the world.

Shattered Realm:
Haven’t checked. Honestly I havent played SR for a long time…

Build Overview

DW version! No MI weapon! Bringing back the glory of Nex&Ortus Shadow Strike!

I have tested some weapons like crescent moon (decent) and winter’s veil (bad). However, DW version can’t really work with little to no CDR and no attack speed. Green with Loxmere dagger is obviously the best with its flat CDR and high %damage. Spectral longsword is also good, but capping NJE will be a pain. As I don’t want to go with MI weapon, Nex & Ortus prove to be the best.

Similar itemization, but rings need to be changed to alkamos purple ring set. Tested with the new shiny rings but alkamos come on top. Nex & Ortus doesn’t give any reduced CDR to Shadow strike, so attack speed and good WPS are crucial for filling the void between each SS cast.

Clear time is similar to soulrend version.

I think one thing tho and that is Calamitous medal together with softcapped RoS is worth exploring, imo. And Revenant is better off bound to RoS.

Interesting idea. Calamitous medal is BiS in spellbreaker setup for sure, but I am not sure here. OA from Shadow queen is just BIG.

Energy is ok. High mana absorb and leech, no problem.
But that is because I just use ordinary auto attack when all the nuke is in cooldown. In your version, you will definitely lack in energy if you want to spam chain lightning also.

Interesting approach, if I make mine, I will just put some points on WPS though.
Fully converted anubar procs worth to try. Though its lightning part has such a high upper/lower bound values.

few questions:

• Why seal of skies when you can use seal of night
• You can just use RoS to proc raise the dead.
• that dagger affixes are too broken…
• I am not sure anymore about stormbox as supporting damage.
• Inquisitor seal is very good for boss wave. Give you more defensive push to facetank multiple nemesis.

Nah, leave Inquisitor alone.
It’s just expected that morg set will be better in infiltrator as it already has inherrent RR. Even trickster will be better than reaper with this set.

All the set gives to Necro is just RR

Necro will still be a bad pair for every class that has a slightest incompatibility with it.

Why seal of skies when you can use seal of night

You asked me that on my latest Silver Sentinel. Skies = better leech both energy and life. I’d use Chillspikes otherwise. Also, got 100% cold. This doesn’t convert pierce.

But you’re right. With +5 to nightblade wps are cheap, and holding another button makes you cast SS less.

You can just use RoS to proc raise the dead.

How do you know it’s not legit? Prove it! Can’t hardcap NJE without. Would have to drop the whole lightning to cold concept and use two Loxes.

I am not sure anymore about stormbox as supporting damage.

Don’t lose faith. It will be stealth de-nerfed in 1.1.5.2. I can feel it.

But I don’t need it. I’m cool like that.

I also thought that at first. My first iteration of this build doesnt use seal, but it is inconsistent in boss wave. Then I put seal and the build become 100% consistent.
At trash wave, I only need it to proc ultos. At boss wave, I stay on the seal until I clear the whole nemesis. You will need to stand your ground anyway in boss wave.

But that maybe because I used 2H, which has no attack speed, less leech, and more prone to fumble.
