Gate to Many Worlds is so cool. Surely there’s a way to get some value out of it, right?
Well, it’s for elemental pet builds with Arcanist. That’s gotta mean Bysmiel set birds, right?
Hey wait, I can fit the whole Trozan’s set in with this…
theorycrafting noises
Hey, this is almost decent!
…and as we all know, when it comes to hybrid pet builds, “almost decent” is good enough to call it a win.
Hat tip to vibratoryblurriness on reddit, who had this idea years before I did, but I never saw it posted as a guide, or even any gameplay footage, so I’m taking matters into my own hands.

Leveling
This is an endgame build, not intended to be played in this form until level 94+
I leveled this build as Panetti’s Replicating Missile + Olexra’s Flash Freeze, using an Ascendant Conduit, a Groble Stone Effigy, and a Wendigo Eye. I used the build’s final devotion setup so that they’d level with me, even though it meant a bunch of my devotions were kind of bad for how I was actually playing it. If I’m being honest, I wouldn’t recommend following in my footsteps; PRM is still not great and I had health sustain issues.
Pick any build from the beginner build compendium that does elemental damage and level with that instead. Or level pure Occultist pets, and just use Arcanist for passives/toggles/utility.
Thanks for reading, and don’t let anyone tell you that birds aren’t real!
(You should let them tell you that hybrid pet builds are bad, though. That’s still true.)
Sorry, it was present but extremely tiny (along with the section headers), because they changed the size scaling on the forums since my last post, so [size=5] went from “larger than normal text” to “barely visible.”
did the vid capture the moment it happens/bird freezes?
if so maybe it could be added to one of the bug reports about the raven/this specific interaction bug for devs to see
It looks like after the engagement at about 1:00, one of the birds follows me away and the other one doesn’t. Apparently it’s related to Mend Flesh. Guess I’ll take out that “value” point.
Added it to this thread, which looked to be the most recent report of this bug.
Just wanted to thank you for this build. I ran this hybrid warlock up, using most of the skills you have but using Replicating missile instead of sigil of corruption until I could switch into end game gear at 94. I put 1 point into mirror and nullifaction, the latter which really helps punch through stubborn monsters, and the former which helps when you are pressed. I didn’t have the offhand, leggings, or belt until later, using instead Mythical Fateweavers Leggings, Phantom-Thread Girdle, and Iskandra’s Texts with zero problems instead. I also did not bother with the Run of Eldritch Instability, as I just use evade.
I can mostly one hand play this build on the mouse, with move to on left, Trozan’s on the right, Sigil of Consumption on lower thumb button, and Blood of Dreeg on upper thumb button. If the fight is difficult I will put the left on the keyboard and access curse, mirror, nullification and health pot as well as evade.
It is a lot of fun running around with 2 familiars, and up to 3 spiders that just jam up the works. You really notice if one of your familiars goes down, so the pet component matters. Sigil and Trozans do the bulk of the work, but curse tossed into that rotation makes stuff die faster. What I like is the sigil persists, so when you are hunting ugdenbloom, the sigil will grind away on it when it respawns. The sigil has shorter range and you need to position to drop them in chokes and atop stationary enemies.
My health hardly budges, so I think I may drop down to your level of physique. Blood of Dreeg is your posion resistance, so you keep popping it up there, which also tops off your pet army. Most bosses are pretty easy, typically I do little semicircles as I dump sigil, curse, and Trozans on them. There are no spirit issues in this build at all.
