Thank you for your guides. Has been helping me alot.
Is it possible to update your oppressor build with a leveling guide?
Ty for the reply! Well, you gave me an excellent idea. Hadn’t written any oppressor beginner guide yet👌
Maybe sth else than Phys melee? We already have a recent one like that
HC SSF Sword and Board Oppressor Leveling guide and Endgame setup 1.2.1.6
Yeah, I was thinking about a vit dmg based oppressor, since my endgame oppressor build is all around the voidsoul set… Just had some ideas ![]()

We don’t have a single Beginner Guardian build. Guardians would be nice. And budget support for them is great.
Problem solved
…Just leveled a beginner player scaled pet/hybrid fire shieldbreaker based on GoE
I’m just kinda busy rn but gonna post it soon
Cool. I leveled it too and even played some endgame build (with Justicar or custom). Nice to have it in beginner compendium.
Hello, i chose this build for my first character. Already beaten ultimate (skipped elite) base campaign and AoM. Now I’m at the beginning of Forgotten gods campaign. I’m missing boots and pants, but eventually i will get them.
So my question is: Do we have double rare variants of every rare item in the build as its not mentioned at the guide. Thanks ![]()
Hi! Ty for the reply! The answer is YES! Since all these rare items are MI’s, we have double rare affixes possibilities on all of them
Thanks, so basically we need them to gain the best performance of the build ![]()
I wouldn’t say so. Just because it’s possible to find double rares, does not mean it is expected or realistic, and builds generally are not designed around them.
The chances of a double rare dropping are tiny. The chances of a double rare with the right affixes dropping are often astronomical.
If you want to you can try farming for them, but it could easily take tens of thousands of runs to find a specific combo of affixes. Less if you’re flexible on which double-rare you get exactly, but a fraction of a percent chance to get a useful combination of 2 rares.
See this thread for the nitty gritty calculations and a spreadsheet.
Also, even though rares are great and offer a lot of stats in total, bear in mind that the actual modifiers are smaller than the common affixes. So if you want to get a high OA on your Aether build, an “Of attack” sufix is going to help a lot more than “of Shattered Reality” even though the latter also gives you some extra damage and resistances.
All in all: if you find a double rare you can use, that’s great. But looking for them is a recipe for extreme boredom. And if a build needs double rares to perform well, it’s probably not that good a build.
Another great build; I’m currently at 97 in HC Ultimate based on it with some modifications as my third HC character. It’s nice to see a blue set get some love, and as an early entry into HC, before there’s a lot of gear in the bank, it’s as you say quite obtainable as an 82. About the only thing I might suggest, given the set’s inherent skill bonus, that some small investment into the Judgment line is worthwhile, and even possibly some AoM by using the Ronaprix Sting instead of Mogara’s (though I am not entirely sold on that) - if going into SR, there are just too many locations where you need to pull the enemy closer due to terrain traps, or the mined area based on Plains of Strife where AoM can clear the mines. Likewise, an Ikrix Scale helps HC survivability at the cost of Balthazar’s Crest DPS.
Ty for the reply! Yeah, you can totally change the playstyle, great thing about this class is how much versatile it can be
I just took my version into Ultimate HC SR at 20/21 (while pathing to avoid Grava’Thul twice along the way). Definitely was pushing my comfort limit; not sure I would risk going further without a switch to purple gear such as your Octavius AoM/Forcewave build once I have found the equipment. You mentioned you had success at SR26? How did you handle terrain traps or Grava?
I don’t remember now if i faced grava on this one. But as most melee builds, this one must struggle a little to beat him too.
Just take care of his sunder move and keep jumping and avoiding his fumble shits (I know… that’s PITA)
Most important thing: when he open his wings, run away from his purple orbs of death🤣
Just do it and you’ll should be fine
About terrain traps, just don’t get too confident when surrounded by large groups of mobs ( use ascension, overguard and try to get away from the debuffs they cause on you)
The negation orbs are avoidable; it was the life drain that is the bane of any melee that doesn’t do DoT like your Octavius warlord. Can’t facetank him, and I’d think he’d be a common show by SR 26, and deadly terrain is definitely common, which is why I wondered how you got that far. Regardless, still a very solid build for main campaign; actually the first I’ve seen which relies on an easy-access blue set (I am only on my third character, and I’ve already got more than two sets of Baldir’s), and the devotion path you picked is solid.
Update : I found my missing items .I managed to kill Lokarr couple of times. Then tried Mogdrogen and succeed to kill him at the second try. It was a tough and long fight.
So the newbie question is : Is this the maximum of the build or it can kill harder bosses too ( i heard there are 3-4 of them , Ravager , etc. )
You killed mogdrogen using the baldir’s set?
I didn’t tested the build with this setup on superbosses bcs i played HC and since we have to facetank a lot i wasn’t sure char would survive those challenges.
Thanks for the feedback.
You can try Ravager and callagadra too, but they’re tougher than mog.
Yes, i have not changed anything in the build. Tried Ravager couple of times but he is much harder ![]()
So, basically build is able to take down Mogdrogen , but not Ravager.
Ty for this feedback, brother!
