Foreword
Hervör was born after her father Angantyr died during a duel against the Swedish hero Hjalmar. Her mother was Svafa, who was daughter of a Jarl Bjarmar. Rather than take on sewing or be raised as a bond-maid like other girls, Hervör proved to be as strong as the boys and learned archery, swordsmanship, and horse riding.
She dressed like a man, fought, killed and pillaged under her male surname Hjörvard. When she learned of her father’s identity, she decided to live as her father and to find Tyrfing, the magic sword.
I was procrastinating coming back to GD the best I could. Didn’t even have the game first month of FoA, until a kind person gifted it to me on Steam. And then came the test patch. Some builds were created. Some I feel like are worth sharing here.
This cold barbarian was a build that I wanted to do since I saw it first on @Superfluff 's video posted in our discord. It lived thru few iterations in this test patch alone: nerfed, buffed, nerfed again, buffed back a bit. Overall it’s a bit weaker than it was before the Avalanche rework, but still one of the strongest melees in the game currently.

Norse mythology questions
So many double rares and wps ascends, has to be hard to assemble!
Not in FoA. Plus there is a lot of flexibility with items which is explained in more detail in Gear section
Is 2H Avalanche even good anymore after its rework?
With extra mods it’s still decent
Gear/skills/devotions/levelling
Frost Wight’s Edge sword is the core item of the build. It’s important to roll a good double rare but you can start with something like “Frostborn of Shattering”.
Dread Mask and Ixall Amulet are just great generic +1 to skills items that are easy to roll into juicy double rares. Jewellery requires couple of Landslides suffixes for optimal performance and one crafted magical ring with Necrotic edge bonus. You need to roll either Wraithbound or Theurgist (on the amulet) to hard cap Soul Harvest.
Shoulder+glove combination can be different. Scarmakers allow you to be more liberal with your ascended bonuses and even equip Vinn’s shoulders. Example of a setup with Scarmakers.
Medal is an obvious core item as well. Pants are there to hard cap Soul Harvest, boots, belt and relic are obvious bis choices.
Get enough ascends to cap your wps pool and then get some generic ascends for hp/phys res/stats etc.
I chose this devotion map for few reasons: enough %damage and juicy defensive bonuses like hp and phys res plus we don’t have too many proccers. About the skills: there were enough points to pump Bone Harvest to use it as ocasional aoe nuke against large groups. Everything else is self-explanatory.
This is the endgame build. It works as advertised once you equip required gear at character level 100 and repeat my grimtools as close as possible. For levelling/beginner guides look at this forum.

Gameplay
It can facetank Callagadra if you dodge her sunders. Ravager of Flesh is fully facetankable but needs one or two Soul Shards and/or Prismatic Diamond to solve energy. Against Ascended Dread and Beronath you have to dodge their big potential one shot attacks. Use Mark of Torment a lot in this big fights.
Everything else is facetankable more or less but if you are playing loaded altar remember that you are still melee and you need to dodge big telegraphed attacks.

Ravager of Flesh 20 seconds kill
Ascendant Mogdrogen 43 seconds kill
Crucible Gladiator 180-200 “naked” ex 4:49 run (no buffs/no banners)
In Conclusion
Will be uploading more videos and more builds, stay tuned.
