[1.9.1.1] UNTESTED: Reduction to Enemy Health Flames of Ignaffar?

Hey everyone!

So I’ve been exploring ideas for higher SR, and I think one of the nice ways to deal some decent damage might be to use Reduction to Enemy Health. I’m yet to test this theory. But I have worked out that even with high life reduction resistance in enemies, life reduction of around 7% could still add like 100k damage to the attack if the mob has 30m hp. So with this in mind, I thought “what if I made a higher Reduction to Enemy Health weapon damage type channeled attack build?”

So, I’ve drafted one up. It has 8% reduction to enemy health , so when using Flames of Ignaffar’s with FoI’s 88% weapon damage on attack it will have about 7% per tick. I think this might actually deal very decent damage. I’ve given it Aura of Censure instead of Possession because I often play in teams and the phys resist is very tasti. But possession would give solo play better defenses and damage.

Has anyone experimented with a build that strongly features Reduction to Enemy Health before? Especially in higher SR?

(I think this build doesn’t have the HP to survive SR 100+, but I wanted to get the damage concept happening first!)

Iirc most heroes, nemesis and bosses have over 90% resist to life reduction

Are you asking this again? Reduction to Enemy Health - Good against high SR Trash?

Yes, I suppose I am! I didn’t feel I got a satisfactory answer last time

…but maybe that is the answer in itself, and I should just make and test the build :o

afaik the life reduction is based out of the monsters current hp. This means that the more you damage the mob, the less effective it will become.

Meaning that the above reasoning is only true for 100% hp mob

So in some cases it may speed up the fight significantly if it reduces the first third of a bosses’ HP quickly, but after a short time it begins to hit seriously diminishing returns…

So then, the above build from this thread which can also deal a potential ~180k crit per FoI tick could still benefit from it, because the weapon damage is high enough dps to be decent on it’s own. The Reduction to Enemy Health could be a nice ‘cherry on top’, but should not be relied upon for the main source of damage…

If I had a voidsoul deceiver lying around, I could just try it on the Ravager, basically just equip a max rolled demonslayer gun and compare kill times.
