10th plague of Dreeg...STUCK!

I am playing a build submitted by Chthon found here
http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51174

I am getting to the point where I am really stuck/can’t do anything without another player to help me.

Bosses/mobs in normal veteran are getting to the point where I have to die 1-2 times before I can clear them out. I have reached the point where I have to secure a rift gate outside Malmouth.

On elite, I can’t do anything without dying multiple times starting slightly after Homestead.

I am not too sure what I am missing that is causing me to struggle THIS badly. I could turn off veteran, I know. I did kinda run through elite, so I could go back and start in Devil’s Crossing and do all the side quests and explore everything back to Fort Ikon…but I don’t want to kill the game for me either.

I also can’t seem to find a weapon better than the one I have equipped absolutely every single weapon I get is a dps decrease per my character sheet. When I find a 2nd weapon for dual wield, my DPS drops 1-3k+. I really don’t know what to do other than re-roll to a new character, just to have to do normal all over again.

Your resists are simply awful! With resists like that things can breath on you and kill you. You need at least some aether res and there is no reason for elemental resistances not to be close to cap at level 66 in elite even if you are only using random gear that drops. Pay more attention to gear that drops, focus on resists/health not damage! Use faction gear if you have access to decent stuff and you should by now, stuff like homstead tri res boots. Use better components and get augments on gear

You should get more points in pneumatic burst asap for better heals and eventually get points in shadow dance. Get veil of shadow to a decent level and max out night’s chill. Killing things faster will go a long way in helping you survive.

Can upload character to www.grimtools.com if you wanna get us more info!

Don’t worry too much about weapon upgrade. Sometimes if you find a dank weapon you might not get an upgrade for a long time, don’t worry about it

Awful resistances are killing you fast. You can craft random gear with Angrim or faction items to patch them. After that use components with resistances-no bristly fur or mutated scales, use stuff like dense fur and rigid shell. Also purified salt in offhand and change medal component to cover aether ot chaos. With some improvements you can grind to level 70, then you can use armor augments!

OK, I uploaded my save from my files… https://www.grimtools.com/calc/a2E8mOPN

However, I’m not sure why there are some inconsistencies on the calculator compared to what I actually see on my character. I am on elite, my physique is 909, cunning 404, spirit 791, hp 6535, energy 3657, OA 1295, DA 1513, DPS 13212, armor rating 703.
Resistances; fire -1, cold 9, lightning -1, poison and acid 73, piercing 59, bleeding 14, vitality 80, aether 0, stun 0, chaos 32.

If you need anything else from my character sheet, let me know.

I have never seen a single dense fur.

I have 1 complete rigid shell and 1 partial component of it. Same goes for purified salt.

You can craft components at a Blacksmith, I’d recommend doing so and replacing some of your current ones like Bristly Fur/Mutated Scales with them.

Change the difficulty(top left) on grimtools to elite (default is ultimate where resists get another -25%) also note grimtools takes the average values of items so your ingame rolls might be slightly different.

Alright, I did some updates to gear and such. Does this look like I am going in the right direction? On normal, I can’t get the elemental resists higher than 83%. I haven’t checked on elite yet.

Resistance cap is normally 80%, but they can be increased by gear and such that say “+% Maximum X resistance”.

Resistances are extremely important. Even if you don’t have gear to max out all of them, certain regions have consistent damage types, like Aether res for aether enemies, chaos res for Chthonics, bleed res for Cronley’s gang, etc. And don’t forget you can use consumables that increases resistances when fighting bosses.

Also don’t make the mistake of thinking your resistances are good enough at a medium point, because resistances are actually more valuable the more you stack them. For example, going from 0% to 20% means you take 20% less damage, but going from 60% to 80% actually halves the damage you take, from 40% of the original value to 20%.

Some enemies also have resistance reduction, especially bosses, so don’t feel bad about overcapping your resistances.

Thank you RabbitUp. I was editing my post to add the grim calc link but went afk before I hit submit.

So sorry to necro this old post! I play a necro now, so it’s ok, right? Anyways…reason for necro, I am coming back into the game and I am looking for the build in this post that I made this thread about almost 2 years ago, or something as close to it as possible, as I really enjoyed it, updated as close 1.1.8.0 as possible. The link I posted way back when no longer works. I found this link [Poison Caster] 10th Plague of Dreeg - Bloody Pox Poison Witch Hunter but it seems to be very, VERY outdated! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
