I tried creating a 2nd town, in one quarter of the map and it was a disaster. People spent too much time walking between the two towns.
It would be nice to be able to create a small town center in one area, put houses, and farms around it and nothing else and the people stayed in that area.
How could would it be to have 4 small towns, with one large city in the middle.
Currently farmers look after all farms in a shared fashion. It would change massively, if each farm looked after his own bit of land, and his son’s helped out.
Orchards maintained themselves, and then the labourer’s filled in any shortage needed.
Late on, maybe tier two farms the farmers get full control, and just give you so much money per year and sell the food at the market. This would be a very big change
I create “suburbs” around a Market, upgrading to Market Square, and in my latest game I didn’t even try to go to Tier 4, I just let as many of my Shelters upgrade to taxable homesteads and an occasional Large House. I have a mostly positive income despite having crap traders and two gold mines. I would like to see the Grocer stock up from the Trading Post and the villagers only go to their local markets for goods and food. Something else I’d like is a ten-year Census, when everyone packs up and moves to the House closest to their workplace.
