A couple ideas after a bit of playing

Hey there,
i have been playing FF for a while, and here’s some ideas that I would like to see in the game

  1. An in-game minimap, and possibly the ability to create a unit (es. a cavalry scout) to facilitate exploration
  2. The possibility to cycle through buildings (especially the production / storage) with an hotkey: for example, CTRL+H could cycle through all HuntIng Cabins, CTRL+W through all work camps and so on…).

Let me know what you think.

Thanks !

Yes mini map would help alot. Especially if mini map also shows the circle locations of buildings when you click on a building. For example. If I clicked on a fisherman hut. The fishing circle appears on the mini map giving you a rough idea which lake the fisherman is going to. Same with hunters. Tracking down where hunters are going can sometimes be very annoying on large maps with mulitple circles everywhere.

Both are hotly requested items. Minimap is probably in higher demand.

I have a feeling they will add things into the game like this, but even so we can look forward to mods to satisfy our specific needs

There is a mod already to zoom further out, and I’ve seen a mini-map. I even had the page for the mod open for a while, but I’m not confident enough, messing around with directories is beyond me now, so I’ll just cross my fingers and hope they bring a lot of the mods to the game.

If a post isn’t made about using mods when they support mods I’ll probably make one. It’s not as complicated as the mod authors make it seem.

I don’t use mods rn because they can cause instabilities in the game, performance issues, unexpected behaviour.

It’s exactly that, knowing how to deal with the unexpected. I’ve used modded assets in Cities, and I can see the imperfections in those, though not mods. Assets are easier to deal with.
