A small feedback - and a ton of questions

Since there is no detailed guide out there and there are many question, would the dev team consider to gather some questions from us and do a Q&A session??

I mean the graphics are amazing but daaaamn…the struggle is real just to figure out what you need to do around. And please fix that audio sound unless you want some deaf people unable to enjoy the music ingame.

So far i have way too many concerns, regarding what and when you should do. There are absolutely no objectives and i don’t see any way to end a mission (because there is no actual mission). So it looks like “here, have a virtual world. Go deal with it!” :open_mouth: Just to name a few of my questions:

  • is it possible to select the people page and actually see who’s idle and who is working?
  • Is there any way to “punish” the idle workers? Like fire them and leave them without a home. Or simply have the possibility to reassign him to work?
  • how can we figure out how much food we need to keep them fed. Because it seems that they are always starving.
  • there is absolutely no explanation on how many wells you should have. Except when they are too many
  • food is rotting in storage while the people is starving??? I need some serious explanations regarding this one because i think i have more hunters, fish huts, plantations & so on that actual population.
  • how can i get a cow?? i tried to buy it in trader’s place but apparently i can’t figure it out where they “ship” my cows. Or how do i place them on that field?
  • since when active population is counting kids? they aren’t working. That’s the reason that the worker numbers weren’t correctly assigned. I thought my math was failing me but no.

+1 to idle worker punishment. I suggest stocks in the town square. :grinning::grinning:

  1. Idle is tricky, there are many seasonal works, best example farmers and foragers - they do what they can and then nothing to do (thats why remove workers from fields, dont need that many)
  2. Spoiling is core mechanic to make the game at least a bit challenging. If you have stable food income, any extra will spoil and that is ok. They will still complain that supply is too low if you have only 3 months of food, but its not a problem, just annoying. This becomes problem only in late game when you need 3 food types and things like fruits will never last, but there are many ways to fight it at that stage - cellars, barrels, conserver buildings for each food.
  3. Wells are cheap and they boost desirability so have them more than needed, usually in hills I have them as close as possible without too close penalty, but in plains you can have just few, but I still prefer as close as possible due to fires and desirability bonus.
  4. cows and trader stock is random, but sooner or later they sell cows, just buy them when you see them for sale, you cna keep them in trading post while you build your barn, then a popup will come that lets you move them to barn.
  5. If you mouse over, there is population brewakdown which tells how many people are able to work

Re: food spoilage…

Use the annual report (little button in the top left) to see the food you are producing, how much you are consuming, and what is spoiling. If you are producing 5000 meat, consuming 3000, and 2000 is spoiling, you need to make more smokers. This works for every unit of food, so you can also see how much smoked meat/fish you are producing, how much is consumed, spoiling, et cetera.

Hey this is not Dungeon Keeper! :V

One question (yes, i read the guide but i cannot find this). When a house needs “herbs” to upgrade how do you get them? I tried selecting villagers and send them there (both right click/left click…even pressed harvest and tried to select it) but absolutely nothing :expressionless:

Need to have a) herbs on your map and b) place a forager to harvest them.

Thanks!! It worked!

And is there any way to empty that storage cart? It says it’s full, it has only woods, but the houses around need repair and no one touches that wood

I was struggling with the cart… then i figure I’d uncheck all the boxes apart from stone, eventually it started to get emptied and after that I used it to park it wherever I needed to mine more stone. Not sure if people will still fetch the stone from the cart or if a wagon picks it up. I am wondering does the AI identify the closest storage where to get it from… Anyway, after filling it up, I bring it in and park it where the stones are needed
