A water tower would be both practical and stylish

A building where workers bring water from a nearby well.

  1. In areas without groundwater, fire prevention is difficult even if a well is installed.
2.The town will look a little nicer.

If not a water tower (which were rather rare if not unknown in medieval times) then at least a cistern building which functions as a central water storage, especially for dry biomes and large cities in times of siege, when the water supply from rivers could be compromised.
Currently, there’s no real need for any water storage if you just build enough wells.
But those can run dry now and then, for which a cistern would be practical so it can be filled during times of water surplus.
I suggest a 4x4 building (two levels) with a rather large radius of effect and a water carrier cart, which can deliver water to where it’s needed and fetch from where it is abundant. Plus a toggle for prioritizing to where that water is given to in times of draught.

Also perhaps an exchange system between cisterns to keep the water reservoirs at even levels.

And maybe also an irrigation system for fields and orchards of sorts?

And while we’re at water, how about a public bath house to increase sanitation and prevent plagues?
Would require a steady supply of water and fuel for heating, as well as soap of course.
