(Playing right now and liking the copy feature) I often find myself finishing once I’ve reached Tier 4, not caring about trying to build everything, especially the Monuments, got me wondering if at the beginning of a game in setting up we could designate a specific task to achieve. Reaching T4 or getting a population of 2000, build all Monuments or construct 20 Altars. The game ends when the thing you set out to do is done. Some could be linked to the Achievements, some to the difficulty level. At the moment I get bored just going on and on with no end in sight.
There are already achievements for building all 3 monuments in a town and iirc also for reaching the various town centre tiers.
Nothing to stop you setting your own goals for a town when you start it.
Yeah, but I keep changing them as the game progresses.
Just had a thought, could shelters be of different sizes? A basic shelter could be 2x2 squares, a homestead 2x3, a large house 3x3, and manors 4x4. Buildings would be limited in upgrading to to space requirements, too close together and they don’t upgrade, you’d have to demolish or move buildings to create the room required. At the moment it’s like a set and forget with automatic upgrading.
(Possibly I’m repeating what someone else said years ago.)
You do realize that this would make all of us newbie players have to move all the roads and rearrange the rest of the buildings to accommodate that move ? Every time a house upgrades, which is 3 or 4 times at least ?
And that larger footprint per house would increase the “acreage” required for that number of houses, but the radius of the market would not expand to cover the same. so now you have to move MORE stuff to put in another market. And when everything expands, then you run into the city walls and have to move THOSE !
All the newbies would quit at the change to a level 2 town center ! I know you said you are bored, and inventing a new challenge. Feel free to test that expanding houses thing in a mod if you want to, but PLEASE don’t punish us newbies ! the learning curve on this game is steep going in as it is.
Hey, if you are bored, maybe you could help them work on the Game Guide ? Lots of empty spaces on the screen that could be a better layout and easier to navigate.
