Any update about console version?

Since my 6 years old gaming laptop died on screen and keyboard, I ordered PS4 Pro to try out console gaming. I dont have money and room for standard gaming PC, I am wondering if GD will have console port.

We only know about a port to Xbox One.

Right now Grim Dawn is coming to XBone because Microsoft actually spoke with us, meanwhile Sony was flaky. Whether we do other console versions in the future remains to be seen.

It’s no secret by now that we are working on an Xbox One port of the game, which is coming posthaste and big news in itself, but that’s actually not what we’re here to talk about today.

Thats sad info. Hope that Sony will show some interest, because GD is the best of is genre (Hack and slash ARPG) since Titan Quest.

You do know that Titan Quest has just been released on nearly all console platforms right? All of them except Switch, which will be released later this year.

Sure I noticed that, that is why I posted my question here TQ was great game in its times, no doubt, but lets be honest its graphics and game mechanics are outdated. If I could chose to play GD or TQ, I would chose GD anytime.

Well, I wouldn’t say the game mechanics are outdated, but then I’ve always played both games - TQIT/AER since 2008 and GD since it came out in alpha access. Playing TQAER right now in fact.

On the topic of console port, I can’t recall if that was discussed already, but do we know how multiplayer would fare?

Is it going to be single-player only, is there online play intended? And most importantly, are there any plans to make it compatible with some kind of offline co-op ?

It would be great to have a mode for 2-4 players to play on the same console, on the same screen, like in Diablo 3. Of course it would require a lot of efforts to implement, but it would be a killer feature.

Couch co-op is unlikely given past comments by the devs. Apparently it’s really hard to do with this game engine.
