Assorted Succinct General Feedback

After signing up, I realize that my notes pale in comparison to others. I will supplement as I go.

  1. I love this game. Great economy builder and great look.
  2. There needs to be a way to sort by need/production chain when trying to identify resources on the map. It takes too long to sort through a map to remember where that one resource is you need if you’ve already discovered it. Non optimized and shaky graphics make it harder at this stage of development.
  3. I feel like needing heavy tools to make heavy tools is problematic. One missed mine closing or dearth or resources and your whole economy falls apart while you wait for a trader to bring heavy tools again.
  4. You should be able to set up regular trades in the trading house. Late game when resources are sparse (or for spices - which can only be traded for it seems) an automation feature for certain trades would be ideal.
  5. Some kind of resource search to identify where items are being stores so that you can investigate and optimize your economic flow would he helpful.
  6. When working on a production chain, selecting one type of building and being able to flip through all of that type of building would be great for managing workers and seeing where they are located around your city.
  7. All building resources should be upper left. Stone, wood, iron, planks, clay, brick etc. That or make it customizable somehow if possible.
  8. Late game, I find that stone is tough. Have you considered a quarry? Mine the mountains down over time.
  9. Maybe forgo the terrain tool or make it such that part of the building process is adjusting the terrain just as cutting trees and clearing stone are.
  10. Have rally points for soldiers in case of an attack so that, upon attack, you can flag/click a bell in the barracks and they deploy.
  11. Markets seem a little lack luster. I would not expand the influence ring of the market, but add more workers and have resources collected from a wider area. Late game, when my city grows and industrial areas are pushed further to the brim, citizens will be unhappy for lack of something even though I have hundreds if not thousands. I build excessive wainwrights to try and resolve this but it does not seem to.
  12. Late game compost becomes and annoying constant task. Would be nice to be able to assign certain compost sites to certain fields so it is automated until one or the other is moved. Late game, I feel I manage compost more than anything.

  1. Possibly this could be addressed with the often-requested Mini-Map for the game to aid in locating and navigating around your map. Make the Mini-Map give only ‘outline’ info until you’ve actually explored it, then make it possible to Search for discovered resources?
  2. I suspect that Heavy Tools is designed to be a Critical Need for the gamer, but I agree that, at least pre-0.8.0, it was problematic: I had Years in which not one Heavy Tool was offered by any Trader, and all I could do was wait. Having, perhaps, some other option to get the 1 - 3 Heavy Tools you need to start making Bread, or Weapons, should certainly be explored.
  3. Something like this - more ‘input’ to what the Traders bring - has also been requested and discussed. This might ‘solve’ the Heavy Tools problem.
  4. Good idea! One of the first uses of numerology and pre-literacy was keeping lists of what was stored: you’d think our little digital folks could manage it.
  5. In the Professions window, you can select workers in each trade and track them, which indirectly allows you to find all the buildings they are working in, or where they are wandering the map.
  6. Better UI. Many comments about this, also, throughout the Forum
  7. They have said that Quarries/Deep Mines to make all the dug resources (Sand, Clay, Stone, Gold, Coal, Iron?) practically Infinite are in the works, probably a High Tier addition.
  8. Also a lot of the ‘professional terrain modifiers’ have suggested changes to the Leveling Tool - and they’ve incorporated some changes in 0.8.0, so they are looking at it.
  9. You can set a Rally Point from each Barracks/Fort already, but they deploy as soon as you set it. Are you asking for Pre-Set Rally Points that, say, activate as soon as the Town Center alarm bell sounds? Given that Raiders can come from almost all points of the compass, I wold think that would be risky.
11 - 12. Late Game Upgrades are still pretty hit or miss, and I, at least, assume there is more to come in Tiers 3 and higher. That, hopefully, will include an Upgrade for the Market past the single upgrade it has now, and an Upgrade to the Compose Heap which now has None.
