Backer Rewards and DRM-Free Copy

I didn’t make the thread.

“Backer Rewards and DRM-Free Copy”

No one complicated things. I just read the thread title and the first post. This thread was specifically made to be about kickstarter backers and their DRM free copies/fulfillment.

It’s also for those who bought via the GD web site. So it applies to them as well.

Yet the promised has changed as they could not keep the original one.
So this new promise may change too, again, as they proved not being able to keep their word.
I see you can’t be happy with your game for somebody is not either. Thank you for your solidarity.
(Usually happy people just play and don’t need to write on forums)

Well, the reason I am on the forums, is because I take care of 2 kids at home. Sorry for being a parent. I am on mobile most of the time on the forums.

I am very happy with Grim Dawn. I have played 400 hours since end of December. Through Steam, that horrible corporation that allowed me to get GD at half of the original price…

Sad me. :frowning:

I purchased this game through HumbleBundle approx. a year ago, at which time the Grim Dawn page there promised a DRM-free version upon release. I even have a confirmation from Humble support (in reply to my inquiry about that) that states: “You should get the DRM-Free version too once it’s available.”
In line with what was said in this thread, I see that promise on their Grim Dawn order page has now been removed.
So what about that DRM-free version from HumbleBundle? Will I now get a GoG key instead?

[Edit] PS: yes, a GoG key would be okay with me… as long as I DO get what I paid for…

So more delay for gog version?

I didndt care if it was humble or gog.

Will people on gog be able to play with ppl on steam?

I’ve purchased the game on steam and also loyalist, will I be able to redeem loyalist items on both?

I’d like an official response pls

I purchased the game on HumbleBundle and now regret it

we don’t care if humble is unsatisfactory. we don’t care what internal turmoils crate or any individual of the company has. we only care that we get what was promised. this is not overly demanding. this is a BASIC consumer right. you expect your car to ship with wheels if you buy one… or do you also grovel in the dust and lick the car dealers boots if he just apologizes and offers to send them to you via some different wheel distributor in MAYBE one or two weeks… or longer?

WTF is wrong with your skewed sense of reality when it comes to your favorite game company? those are not your pals. you pay them money and get what they advertise as their product. what’s so different from any other company here? what do you get from being nice to someone that SPITS IN YOUR FACE? repeatedly? we are just kicking and screaming to get what was advertised to be delivered to us ROUGHLY 2 1/2 years ago. WTF is so darn demanding about that? we demand a drm free copy of a game that has been taking more than double the time to get released than was promised. you people should really get some help over that stockholm syndrome. i will never get slapped in the face and say thank you for some contrived explanation. we don’t know if it’s true or “transparent”. it might be all just lies to calm those of us down that did not get what was promised in the first place. why is this so hard to understand?

What ever helps you sleep at night. Hilarious.

I bought the game in 2010. You can wait a bit longer. I’m not bitching about my legendary/loyalist items.

Very small company that went up and down over the years in staff. They had to prioritize things.

Just wow. You speak about reality and then you compare a delayed release of a game to a car with no wheels. Your venomous rhetoric is doing nothing but making you look an idiot and certainly isn’t going to change how fast things are going to happen.

I don’t use GOG. I have humble and steam. Should I start throwing a fit in digital space because I feel entitled to my humble key and don’t want to use GOG? Do I have a valid case too? Maybe. Do I even care? No. I have much bigger things to worry about than how I receive a digital distribution.
I mean really, grow the hell up.

I’m not there yet. I still have faith that this issue will be resolved and that everyone that purchased the game through HumbleBundle receives his DRM-free copy. But yes, I would like to get an official confirmation of exactly what we can expect now…

You may have missed medierra’s last post, in it he says that the distribution of the DRM-free version will be via GOG.

Oh wow. Some men and women are not like you, bless the heaven’s or hell’s or the Darwin whatever floats your boat.

Now there is no difference whatsoever to me, not because I am grinch or that I care about my funds anymore than I should, in paying the money to order a Porsche with custom specifications have it built and then shipped to my dealer so he hands me the keys, expecting not to be spit in the face/owned/or trolled in this business (and I like the car I sure do and I like the business the service the integrity the trust etc. ad aeternum… of Porsche so for a family car guess what I’ll buy a 4-door too from them (can’t say the same for Crate anymore I guess) ) AND any other money involving affairs may they be aerial, digital (like this situation), spatial or well damn even sexual.

If you’re not trolling and this is really the way you view things, well you might catch some luck in life and end up rich but you will never be a wealthy man or woman in this life or any other with this “slap in face; then say thanks! for your contrived explanation”. But what are you doing in this thread by the way? You’re here for agitation or slander? Because you said something that can account to: you clicked the buy now button and you got what you paid for at release while I clicked the BuyNow! and did not get what I paid for at release. I did not pay for anything post release and that was VERY clear. You’re either an hypocrite (think about the exact same situation from a reversed perspective and see how you react as I got my digital goods I paid for but you stay in the rain waiting (spat in the face) ) because you’d behave like some of us or you’re the type that is OK sir you slapped my face but it’s not that important there are other worse things in the world it’s OK please may you deliver me my goods after all the sooner the better  doggy puppy eyes and quite frankly I do not care about this or that way of being…

You are disrespectful to some people in this situation while not being involved at all in the matter at hands + you are shaming yourself (trust me!) but it doesn’t matter because you’re on a digital forum right? so you’re hatefully slandering away!, maybe a symptom of you thinking with your lower body parts rather than the higher ones, this seems more common around here than in the general worldwide distribution of this characteristic. But there’s nothing wrong with that, just be yourself buddy… but not where you don’t belong… like in THIS thread.

Thanks, but I didn’t miss it. But I (and several others) already purchased the game through HumbleBundle, and was supposed to receive a DRM-free version at release. So I would like to know how we will receive our DRM-free version of the game.

Can a moderator just purge this topic and leave relevant post by medierra, that actually keep us updated on the progress? This arguing back in forth doesn’t add anything to the topic.

Probably for the best at this point. 29 pages in and going in circles for awhile now.

actually we have much bigger things to worry than playing games… by your logic anything that doesn’t combat global warming is not worth even considering. so why bother with anything anyone does? i mean there thousands of kids dying of hunger each day. not to mention cancer… diabetes… what have you. there’s so many IMPORTANT things in this world that one might wonder why you even bother replying to me. so please go and save the world like the grown up you are and leave me to my devices while i am trying to get crate to actually deliver on at least one promise in their career.

Dude just shut up  No one cares about your crusade neither it will make Grim Dawn appear on GOG any sooner. You are only embarrassing yourself along with other salty people. Game is on the way to GOG, it shouldn’t be that hard to comprehend, but apparently is to some…

Oh, browsing my HiB library:

Grim Dawn
Crate Entertainment

The Pioneer Edition of Grim Dawn entitles you to the following:
. Download the full game upon release, direct from us, DRM free or also via Steam and other distribution sites.
. Access to the beta
. Digital download of Grim Dawn original music
. exclusive swashbuckler’s coat in-game item
. Enchanted Burrwitch Brew in-game item

I didn’t dream about this promised release,
yeay the release, at last I can download GD, drm-free directly by Crate site!
Maybe I didn’t search enough… and why is there not written the expansion in the HumbleB text?

KickStarter: $45:
Early Access Edition + Expansion
is everything from the $35 tier, including beta access, plus our first expansion (which will be developed after release).

Crate site:

once you’ve redeemed your keys, we cannot offer a refund.
The option to download the game DRM free is coming soon.
In the meantime, you can use the Steam key included with your purchase to play the game through Steam.

Ah the trap: Use the meantime play (for those who don’t dislike installing Steam) and you can no longer refund. And even refunded it won’t be with morale damages and interests…
