…and since I don’t want to be murdered by Zantai or any of my builds I’m going to post this here instead.
As the title already suggests BoM is imo in need of a bit of love or even in need of an upgraded version to Mythical Badge of Mastery.
If we have a look at the current BoM the bonuses dont feel very appealing to justify ever using it over any blue, purple or decent green craftable or MI medal and getting semi desired +level bonuses is a nightmare to put things kindly +it’s crafting cost for that it offers is too high imo.
Possible solutions to make it more attractive would be:
Greatly improve the % all dmg bonus to ~120% like most other purple medals, add a small flat life mod with ~200-400 HP & a small amount (~5) as/cs% and buff the proc (since it even sadly is an on death effect) have perma uptime with either 10 sec recharge & 10 sec duration or 15 sec recharge & 15 sec duration.
Another possiblity would be to keep as is but make the proc a % chance on attack.
The second idea I’d like to suggest (and the one I personally would prefer best here tbh) is adding a Mythical Badge of Mastery.
The M. Badge could look something like this:
~125% all damage.
~ 3-5% oa %.
~ -15% phys/cun/spi req. for ALL weapons
~ 30% ele. res.
~ 5% total speed.
~ 500 hp.
Keep it’s proc but with already above mentioned adjustments.
…and now the real kicker:
~ +5 to the granted, randomly chosen two skills BUT it should be IMPOSSIBLE to obtain a +10 for obv. reasons.
Something like this would make BoM finally be a nice endgame money sink & an item that might actually be desireable for certain builds.
alright, guess i’m gonna be the contrarian: BoM is fine
why is it fine, because +5 skills is big when you can “cheerypick” those - and yes i know the absurdity of cherrypicking skills when trying to craft legit, but i think that’s the point
it’s basically like an MI medal with +2class prefix on it, which is also hugely RNG
the stats themselves on BoM are actually not that horribly “low” that it makes for a bad medal, and can be worth to put in a build if the goal is simply to hardcap X skill
the main issue, aside from huge RNG from non GDstash crafting, is that a lot of skills is not represented on BoM, which means you can’t even use that to then hardcap YZ skills
^whether or not that’s fair is not for me to determine since it would also technically just increase the RNG if more skills got included
overall i think BoM is fine in serving as a gimmick build item, and as such doesn’t need to be upgraded to fit into modern day endgame builds or meme metas, it’s a niche medal for a niche purpose and as such i think it does its niche job ok

Still I think that BoM is too much RNG as it is in it’s current state & as already said boni feel underwhelming to me.

The desired fix to BoM is not to keep it the way it is but make the numbers bigger.
The ‘fix’ is to rework the item to be generically good but less RNG-heavy.
So sure, they can ‘fix’ Badge of Mastery and make the name appear on modern builds. But it won’t be the item you see right now or suggested it should be.
