Also where would be the best place to put such a timeline in forum ?
and a problem with the forum only allowing 8 images per post would need to be addressed (the Time line would be Thumbnails linkable only not full images).
Now that I’ve asked this I supposed someone is now gonna beat me to it :undecided:
EDIT: Maybe my question got lost in the sea of posts. That or it was ignored, but I’ll ask again just in case. Are there plans to add some brighter, more ornate victorian style architecture to the game? We’ve seen crypts and a lot of places that look like war zones, but so far no shots of any major cities or established settlements in Cairn. Should we expect to see these types of places in Cairn, or has the world fallen into such disarray that nothing beyond rudimentary architecture has survived?
Great improvement from previous version. I’m really glad with the dev speed, considering how small you guys are. Gladly I’m working currently so I could be very calm with GD. If I’m on idle at home, I would be really impatience to get this.
I kept Grim Dawn pictures in my special places. Maybe there are even some of new guys here missed those screens. I’m not updating it with the latest hot shot yet though. Oh don’t get annoyed with the blog title though.
Sorry, meant to respond last night but was too tired and had forgotten by this morning.
We eventually intend for the player to make their way towards the heart of the old human empire on Cairn and the remains of the capital city. However, they won’t make it there in first release; that will come with later expansions. We actually have a pretty large world map sketched out and the first installment of the game will introduce only a small region of it.
That region will have some diverse environments ranging from swamp, to farmland, mountains, villages, and eventually an industrial town. It is sort of a backwater area though, so there won’t be any really ornate urban buildings yet. This also works for us because we don’t quite have the resources to build a giant urban area with tons of detail, so we want to save that for later when we’re in a better position to execute on it.
Heh, sorry dude, it really was just an accident. It was late at night, I was in the middle of other stuff, I was rushing to finish the post. There was a brief moment where I thought “does asylum have two S’s or one?” but I didn’t bother to check. For some reason the significance of the misspelling didn’t even register for me. I mean shit, if it were any normal English word it would have a second S…
I would have apologized right off but I really didn’t think you’d care and assumed you’d know I had no ill intent. So anyway, my apologies. :o
Lol, no prob, I get a bit paranoid about that cause it’s not the first time someone has misspelled asylum with two S’s, it surprised me coming from you so I was like wtf?
Thanks for clearing it up, not that it was necessary lol.
I get the feeling they’re keeping the bigger towns and what’s in store for them a secret for now. I prefer it that way :). I guess you’d see some great construction there.
Beautiful shot Medierra! Amongst all the other (vast) improvements since the first one of the barricade, what I really like is how the plants have changed. In the first shot they looked way to heavy and bright. Now they are more detailed and don’t distract from everything else, they just fit in.
Now I’m glad I saved every screenshot awhile back! No, I’m not gonna spread them around, I understand why they were taken down. But I do like having them so I can compare from time to time.
Gotta love seeing that buttstroke in action on a zombie! I sure hope I can get that as my first skill!
looking great! When is alpha/beta potentially planned again? sometime early next year? I’m really looking forward to being able to contribute to testing on this.
I see you have changed the vegetation around the barricade. In the old SS there was Bracken looking plants but they seem to have been replaced by some other type of shrubbery and long grasses.
