If we can’t hunt and eat the geese then they should be removed from the game to reduce cpu usage, or if that’s not possible then have them fly over during “migration” periods on the weather bar at the top of the screen. They’re annoying.
I disagree. I enjoy seeing and hearing them- it’s a little immersion detail I enjoy. We do eat their eggs that the foragers grab from nests, but I do agree it would be nice to be able to hunt them or capture them to establish an aviary to raise them like cows. Products would be eggs, meat and goose down- a new luxury item of down-filled pillows made by the weavers?
But I vote to keep the geese- perf will be improved once the game is closer to going gold and Crate does some massive optimization passes. But an option to disable them, like we can disable foliage, perhaps?
And down-filled quilts that would be a luxury item for high-tier housing… For those long cold winters.
@kendy4thestate I love the geese sound.
That’s like saying if we can’t eat the snow, remove it!
They’re a part of the scenery, for immersion, to signify autumn like the change in colour of the leaves. Do they even affect cpu usage? I would’ve assumed they only (and slightly) affect gpu usage, but I don’t know. Such a weird detail to get upset about. Wildlife not being hunted to extinction - how dare they!
I reckon we should be able to gather the eggs, upgrade the barn, and then raise a geese flock to we can get eggs more easily - I can never collect enough eggs for my people and it’s so frustraing. Eggs should be one of the easiest things to gather and then farm in real life. Whether is geese or chickens, either are wonderful
