Brewery upgrade/new building: Distillery

I’ve seen vinyards and wine suggested as an addition to the game and going alkng on that vibe, a distillery would he amazing too!

Picturing a big stone building with big copper vats in the courtyard.

Already have grain as a source for distilling - but might also be nice to get potatoes added as a plantable resource for making spirits too.

Could co-incide with an upgrade to the pub to serve spirits.

And would also love to see oubs serve meals too - maybe help consume those greens that keep spoiling!

Devs seem to be avoiding New World crops so potatoes would be out.

Fair enough - luckily you can also make a spirit from turnips!

Much like I said about the suggestion to add wine, I love the idea, and can see a number of spin offs from it as well. Spirits can be used by your healers to disinfect wounds and make stronger medicines. It can be combined with your orchards to make peach brandies. And alcohol (as well as vinegar from the winery) can be used to preserve more foods, like pickled eggs, fish, and greens. And that just opens the door to specific “pub snacks” for an even further upgraded pub.

Overall, great idea though. Thanks for the suggestion.

Cheers

More importantly, the majority of ‘spirits’ are from Grains or Fruit, many of which are already in the game:
Brandy, from any number of fruits like apples (Calvados) or pears, or wine
Whiskey, from Barley, Wheat, or Buckwheat (Japanese Shochu)
Vodka, from Wheat

A Distillery would require not only the ‘raw material’ of grains or fruits or even vegetables, but also large quantities of Firewood and some input from your Forges or Blacksmiths to build the distillation vats in the first place, so this would be a High Tier undertaking, with distilled spirits possibly being a Tier 4 or 5 Luxury - and a really lucrative trade good.

I brew ale and sell it, I don’t even build a pub, I can never keep it stocked.
