Bringing in the New Year with B16 v0.2.1.4!

Sounds like you guys need a producer to keep track of this kind of stuff.

Hey Medierra, I was wondering whether this patch has fixed the lack there of any scaling between cunning to bleeds/pierce? :open_mouth: 'cause last patch there was a bug that made it so that you could build full phys and still deal the same damage as a glass cannon who built pure cunning, when it came to bleeds/piercing (minus crits, of course).

Pierce and bleed haven’t been added yet but it’s on our list. It is going to require some significant work to fix that because once the bonus is working, we’ll have to re-balance all pierce / bleed skill damage.

There have been quite a few of these hidden legacy TQ bugs that we’ve uncovered and had to deal with over the course of development… I hope we’re getting to the last of them. :undecided:

We added the ability to configure a delay on ambush spawns. Now instead of always emerging as soon as you’re within range, they can wait. I’ve added a bunch more of these types of spawns to the Warden’s Cellar / Lab. Usually they are positioned and timed so that they’ll come up around you while you’re righting something else or behind you to try and trap you in a narrow corridor or room. Quite dastardly if I don’t say so myself.

It was a must for almost all of my builds…I think pretty much everyone knew that it was too powerful, but who would complain about a weapon being too badass.

I hardly ever used Fighting Spirit and if I did, only put one point into it.

Maybe its because of the light change that I can see this now or its because of a patch but I think you should tweak the dead body physics a little bit. I play a tanky soldier and when I use my forcewave they sometimes fly through the invisible ceiling a good distance and land some rooms later. Sometimes they land on the room walls or on the chimney.

It looks very funny but it destroys the immersion of being in a underground lab

I would even go so far as saying this is a major innovative feature that GD has brought to the genre. Very much enjoy having my kiting path blocked by enemies that were not there before.

Arrrhhhhgggg… ^ This. Please change the zoom distance back. I find I am trying to look under the top of the edge of my monitor. It is too close. For me it was a little too close in the first place, but now, it almost hurts my neck.

I can’t wait to start playing!

I keep on seeing updates for the Alpha and Beta releases, wish I just went ahead and bought the early bird releases!

It’s available for “early access” purchase on Steam. Might have even been on sale a few times during the last couple of weeks.

I was expecting something more substancial… oh, well…

Hi @ all,

i bought the alpha access via steam.
still have the B15 version.
is there no patch download for steam users ??
why?

or am i doing sth wrong ?

thanks

Make sure you have “automatic updates” enabled in Steam for the game.

That said, I do have that enabled myself and so far haven’t seen any indication an update occurred.

Is there a menu entry in game that indicates the build version? I don’t recall seeing one on the opening screen. Maybe I have the new build and don’t realize it. :o:D

Sometimes I have to close and re-open Steam for it to start updating.

Thanks for putting the camera zoom back where it was; it was just too close. Will this be an undocumented update to B16, or will we have to wait until the Beta is released?

A little off topic but can anyone tell me how to turn off the automatic updates on Steam? I couldn’t find it in the settings. Not a huge deal but the auto download almost put me over my monthly data limit…

Steam > go to Library > right click Grim Dawn > Properties > 2nd tab - Updates

Awesome! Thank you!

Hummm I wish I didn’t have auto -update enabled…

But then I don’t think the game plays if you fail to accept the update, least ways that what I recall.

But all in all this seems like another “NURF” update as a lot of it seems to reduce the players abilities or ups the enemy’s abilities. :frowning:
