Builders - Not Repairing

Hello im not sure if im not understanding the repair system with the builders… They have all the required materials to repair the buildings and they for some odd reason will not do so. The problem is that now my theater is condemned and a large number of my villagers are leave creating a very bad uncontrollable domino effect… A whole year of me trying to get it repaired and still nothing.

So I’ve had this problem too while playing. Multiple things can account for this. One, is that you don’t have enough builders and too many laborers is what I’ve noticed. Another, is if you don’t have enough resources.
You can change the job interface if you click on your population size and on the top right, put more builders. If that doesn’t work save and restart the game. Cheers! I had it happen to me where I just did not have enough builders and the planks were not coming in fast enough to repair. You will also need the right materials (Bricks, planks etc, and you find that by hovering the repair).

I am aware of these things however i really do greatly appreciate the reply! I eventually downloaded a trainer and set my buildings to god mode… As i had over 10 builders, 20 laborers and after a year of waiting with the available materials for my buildings to be repaired with no success :confused:

Yeah you might have to overload the builders. If any of my buildings are crumbling its because I’m building too much and my builders are focused on something else. I also restart my last save which helps.
They need to make the ability to prioritize crumbling buildings cause if my theatre goes down then it causes a cascade of issues

I believe 0.75B or C broke repairs. I have 20 builders, 40 labourers and all the wood/planks in the world. Nothing is being repaired nor built.

All builders are tied to expiring fences and other buildings stating they are maintaining it but nothing happens, you can hear a hammer going but there is no progression in any phase of the repairs.

Game started on .75B and is on .75C

Dev just confirmed on Steam, it´s broken. Hotfix .75D coming out.

half my buildings/houses just went condemmed.
I have 40 builders, 80 laborers, and enough materials.

I saved, and I’m gonna take another look tomorrow.
But if repairs are broken, it’s a bad situation :frowning:

I had the same theory hahaha I noticed the villagers seem to prioritize everything other than the Condemned buildings :roll_eyes: Before my fix was using a trainer and setting all my buildings to god mode… But since the update I started a new save with a new way to work around it without cheating!.. I dont know why I didnt think about it before but we can simply relocate the building to the same location without wasting any materials :joy: Something similar to Rimworlds priority system would be sweet! Who knows maybe sometime in the future! :slight_smile:

I tried assigning 60 builders, they filled up immediately, leaving 30 laborers. (thought i had 40 builders, 80 laborers, it was only 50 laborers)

They slowly started working though the condemmed buildings.
I had to rebuild 3 trashed buildings.
“relocate” a school and a healers house, that around 10% integrity.

Right now, only 1 market remains with low integrity.
So it looks like reparing works, it’s just too low builders to keep up.
Yes my production chain took a hit with 30 laborers, but it was worth it.

edit: I’m gonna try 50%/50% laborers/builders and see if it helps.

The problem is here: Please check the building which has been repaired, the % over 100%.
My building appear about 17x% and continue increase. That why they can’t repair anything.

My problem is…
have you seen the COST of repair on the buildings??? its insane!!

For example:

Apiary:
NEW: total cost of materials to build a new apiary: 10 planks, 5 stone and 15 labor
REPAIR: 22 planks (???)

Windmill:
NEW: 40 planks, 10 stones, 1 heavy tools
REPAIR: 104 planks !!!

You wonder why the builders take forever to repair 20 buildings at this insane cost. I literally cleared about half the map of forrestry running 2x upgraded sawmills just pumping out planks to repair… man the damage to wildlife and ecosystems!!

not sure why repairing a building cost more materials than it cost to build it outright

But this thread is about builders not repairing, which they do.
But yes, the repair cost is nuts, but they repair none the less. :slight_smile:

edit: In my case with the windmill, it seems the repair is doubled up, and should be 14 wood planks, 4 stone and 0.38 heavy tool (making it 1)

Yes, a building with >100% integrity don’t need repairs.
It going above 100% is clearly a bug.

Well dang considering the costs guess I’ll just start demolish/rebuild

As in 0.7.5d The bars don’t show but the buildings still not being repaired.

Same with my game buildings are still not being repaired, repair costs seem to have come down though.

Is this still happening with v0.7.5d?

That screen i send, they where not repairing to the point of total collapse without warning, but meanwhile starting to get the bars an things started to be repaired.
