Building on Perfectly Flat Terrain

After spending a few days playing on my 3rd map, I decided to start rolling and restarting settlements to find a starting area I think is awesome, since I haven’t found a way to relocate the main hut. I have found a few areas that either edge or are Alpine Valley that you cant build a single structure in because the terrain is not flat. I have tried the “flatten” feature and it doesnt really change anything… I would love to see the building placement tolerance for terrain angle change enough to make since.

I have tried to clear, flatten, turn, and repeat on something that looks like something I would willingly build on in real life, but have been unable. If we could place buildings on terrain that has a bump here and there and or build something on terrain that is sloped but it costs more because a basement type addition is required to make something realistically “stable” on said terrain, I would be significantly more happy.

I have found a few locations that are long stretches in between MASSIVE lakes flanked by mountains that look stunning, but i cant build anything there because the game doesn’t allow building on terrain that is uneven. I would like to highly suggest that be tweaked slightly, even if it costs a few more resources to build on it to keep it true to what building in life is like.

Yeah the flatten feature needs to be a little more powerful. You have to flatten the same spot multiple times and even then hope for the best. Mountain areas are pretty much impossible to flatten enough no matter how much you use the command.
